The verdict in the FTX case, which has been going on for 5 weeks, finally reached its conclusion. SBF was found guilty on charges of misusing billions of dollars of customer funds deposited with FTX, misleading investors and lenders, and conspiracy to defraud. Bankman-Fried was found guilty of two counts of wire fraud, two counts of wire fraud conspiracy, one count of securities fraud, one count of commodities fraud conspiracy and one count of money laundering conspiracy. Each of Bankman-Fried's crimes carries a maximum sentence of 5 to 20 years in prison, so depending on all crimes, Bankman-Fried could face a maximum sentence of 115 years in prison. New York District Judge Lewis Kaplan, Sam Bankman-Fried and all the other accused will be sentenced at the next hearing on March 28, 2024. Government prosecutors will recommend a sentence but the final decision rests with Judge Kaplan.
