Leading ride-hailing company, <a href="http://bolt.eu" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bolt</a>, has launched an online training program for drivers on its platform. As seen in a statement released to Technext, this development marks the second stage of its Accelerator Program launched in September to stimulate and boost mobility entrepreneurship among drivers. 
Describing it as a bespoke online training hub, the company said the training centre will focus on enhancing the business development competencies of its drivers. The online training centre will be run in collaboration with prominent online learning platform, Coursera and in-person implementation partner PM4Success. 
Spanning three months, Bolt Nigeria says the comprehensive program covers a wide spectrum of essential entrepreneurial skills, including Time Management, Productivity, Communication, Customer Service, Project Management, Leadership, and Organisational abilities.

“Bolt Academy stands as a remarkable stride towards fostering entrepreneurial excellence among Bolt drivers. The program will see 100 drivers engage in weekly courses that will further build on their entrepreneurial skills,” the statement reads in part. 
<h4 id="bolt-accelerator-and-den-program" data-beyondwords-marker="2774c5de-a509-4bc2-8d86-a202a01d3835">Bolt Accelerator and Den program</h4> 
The online training is coming two months after the company <a href="https://technext24.com/2023/09/19/bolt-launches-accelerator-program/" data-type="post" data-id="214742">launched the Bolt Den project as part of its accelerator program</a>. The accelerator promises a seed fund of €25,000 earmarked to support innovative business proposals developed by Bolt drivers. The company believes that the Den represents a resounding affirmation of its commitment to embolden drivers for entrepreneurial success. 
Giving a scorecard of the accelerator program, the company said 1,275 drivers applied for the program. Out of these applications, 100 drivers have successfully progressed through the application phase to the next phase which is the ideation phase. These 100 drivers have actively participated in specialised ideation sessions crafted to empower them with the indispensable knowledge necessary for the proficient construction and development of their business proposals. 
Out of the 100, the top 20 drivers adjudged to have the most innovative and promising business solutions, will advance to the intensive bootcamp phase. The company said this phase is meticulously structured to prepare them thoroughly for the forthcoming stage within the Bolt Den program. 
The pinnacle of the accelerator program is slated to reach its culmination on the eagerly anticipated Pitch Day, scheduled for November 2023. Here, the participating drivers will have the privilege of presenting their business proposals and concepts to a panel of judges. The most exceptional ideas will secure the seed investment required to turn their aspirations into reality.

While expressing his delight, Bolt Nigeria Country Manager, Yahaya Mohammed, said the team is excited to see what the selected drivers would go ahead to accomplish with their ideas.

Speaking about the program, Managing Director of PM4Sucess International, Dr David Emumena, described it as a beacon of opportunity for drivers. He expressed his belief that every driver has the potential to be successful and that his company is committed to nurturing their entrepreneurial spirit and bridging the gap to equip the drivers for a brighter future. 
On his part, Managing Director EMEA at Coursera, Hadi Moussa said the digital learning platform is thrilled to play a role in unlocking potential and nurturing entrepreneurship among Bolt drivers.
