<p>Taiwanese police have uncovered what is thought to be the country’s largest cryptocurrency-driven money laundering scandal. A Taichung-based suspect, known only as Chiu, has been accused of laundering more than 324.2 million USDT linked to a fraudulent investment scheme. The fraudsters are alleged to have instructed victims to transfer their funds to dummy accounts before converting them to cryptocurrencies and transmitting them to overseas cryptocurrency exchanges or traders. Three other individuals were arrested in connection with the fraud. During the inquiry, police also discovered that Chiu had associations with overseas gambling and fraudulent groups.</p>
