Sam Bankman-Fried, the former CEO of the defunct FTX exchange, is set to take the stand and <a href="https://twitter.com/innercitypress/status/1717187662132474344">testify in the United States v. Sam Bankman-Fried trial</a>. 
During a teleconference held on Wednesday, Bankman-Fried’s lawyer, Mark Cohen, confirmed that his client’s testimony will likely span the entire day on Thursday, with cross-examination scheduled for Friday.&nbsp; 
<h2 id="b-bankman-fried-s-high-stakes-trial-b">Bankman-Fried’s High-Stakes Trial</h2> 
The <a href="https://thecoinrise.com/sam-bankman-frieds-second-day-of-trial-commences-with-jury-selection/">trial of Sam Bankman-Fried has become a significant event</a> in the crypto space, reflecting the increasing regulatory scrutiny and legal challenges that crypto exchanges and industry figures are facing. Bankman-Fried, who was once considered a billionaire and a rising star in the crypto space, now finds himself at the center of a legal battle that could significantly impact the industry. 
The charges against Sam Bankman-Fried are indeed substantial. He is accused of participating in a scheme involving the misuse of billions of dollars of customer assets for personal investments, ultimately leading to the downfall of FTX, which filed for bankruptcy protection late the previous year. If convicted, he could face decades in prison, reflecting the gravity of the allegations against him. 
<h2 id="b-cross-examination-and-legal-strategies-b">Cross-Examination and Legal Strategies</h2> 
Bankman-Fried’s testimony will open the door for cross-examination by Assistant United States Attorney Nicolas Roos. Both the prosecution and the defense will employ their legal strategies to make their case as compelling as possible. 
In addition to Bankman-Fried, the defense will call a few more witnesses to support their case. Notably, financial consultant Joseph Pimbley, a lawyer from the Bahamas, and one other individual will testify on Bankman-Fried’s behalf. Their testimony will likely provide context and additional perspective on the allegations against the FTX founder. 
<h2 id="b-legal-challenges-faced-by-bankman-fried-b">Legal Challenges Faced by Bankman-Fried</h2> 
One of the significant challenges Bankman-Fried’s defense team has faced is the denial of seven expert witnesses that they proposed to call during the trial. Judge Lewis A. Kaplan, overseeing the case, <a href="https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nysd.590940/gov.uscourts.nysd.590940.287.0.pdf">ruled against allowing these witnesses to testify</a>.&nbsp; 
However, Kaplan did leave a window open for Bankman-Fried to call on four of these experts as rebuttals to government witnesses.&nbsp;
