MoonPay has announced a partnership with Mastercard in a bid to drive innovation and strengthen consumer connections with Web3 technologies. The Web3 infrastructure and services provider will embed Mastercard products and solutions to attain more trust, compliance and efficiency across the industry.&nbsp;
According to the announcement, Mastercard will explore more ways of using Web3 tools across its portfolio of partners, enabling them to connect with customers in new ways.
Commenting on the announcement, MoonPay’s co-founder and CEO Ivan Soto-Wright highlighted the partnership is a big step forward for the Web3 industry.&nbsp;
“We’re excited to collaborate with Mastercard, a prominent supporter of Web3 and the digital economy, to redefine customer loyalty and engagement,” Soto-Wright <a href="https://www.moonpay.com/newsroom/mastercard" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">said</a>. “Joining forces will create new opportunities to showcase blockchain’s potential in establishing unique connections and meaningful moments while broadening our industry’s overall reach.”
This partnership comes at the back of a series of announcements by Mastercard as part of its broader strategy for the Web3 industry.&nbsp;
On October 13, the global financial services company teamed up with Cuscal, Mintable, and the Reserve Bank of Australia to run a live demo of its <a href="https://www.nftgators.com/mastercard-enables-cbdc-tokenisation-across-multiple-blockchains/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">eAUD</a> project that seeks to tokenise Central Bank Digital Coins.
The company also has an ongoing <a href="https://www.nftgators.com/mastercard-teams-up-with-aptos-labs-to-create-web3-identity-solution-apps/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">partnership with Aptos Labs</a>, which seeks to develop an on-chain identity and verification framework that can be used across payments, remittances, ticketing and <a href="https://www.nftgators.com/what-is-an-nft/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">NFTs</a> applications. In April, Mastercard launched a <a href="https://www.nftgators.com/mastercard-drops-limited-edition-nfts-for-its-artist-accelerator-program/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Web3 accelerator program for artists</a>, powered by Polygon.
The company’s latest collaboration will leverage the expertise and experience of Otherlife, a subsidiary of MoonPay that provides Web3 creative agency services, development, strategy, and experiential services to help with the integration process.
