President Bola Tinubu has appointed Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin, the CFO/Head, of Strategy and Projects, JET Motor Company Electric Vehicles as the new head of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC).
This is coming days after the president announced the new heads of three agencies. The new CEOs were listed as Aminu Maida, Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC); Nkechi Egerton-Idehen as Managing Director of the Nigerian Communications Satellite Ltd (NIGCOMSAT); and Tola Odeyemi as Postmaster General of Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST).

Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/oluwemimo-j-osanipin-fca-mba-cisa-23b51b33/?originalSubdomain=ng" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">boasts an impressive</a> educational and professional background. His educational journey includes a Bachelor of Science in Accounting (BSC Accounting) from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Benin (Uniben).
For professional qualifications, Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin holds the distinguished title of Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA – ICAN) and is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).

His career trajectory commenced with a role as a Senior Internal Auditor at Ibru Organisation, a position he held from 1996 to 2000. During this formative stage, he honed his skills and gained invaluable experience in the field of internal audit.
In 2000, he joined Zenith Bank as an auditor and progressively ascended the organizational ladder. His roles included that of an IT Auditor and responsibilities in Internal Control and Audit. Throughout his 12-year tenure, his contributions played a pivotal role in enhancing the bank’s internal control and audit functions.
Following his tenure at Zenith Bank, in 2013, he joined the GIG Group, where he made significant contributions in various capacities. His roles included Head of Internal Control and Audit and later, Group Head of Finance and Accounts.
His proficient leadership and expertise in the domains of finance and audit significantly contributed to the success of the GIG Group during his tenure from 2013 to 2019.
Prior to his appointment as the new head of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC). Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin served as the CFO/Head of Strategy and Projects at Jet System Auto Industries Ltd.
His appointment to this role commenced in 2019. In this capacity, he oversees the financial aspects of the company while also spearheading strategic projects at the JET Motor Company Electric Vehicles.

The recent appointment of Joseph Oluwemimo Osanipin as the Head of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) could open new opportunities in the future of mobility in Nigeria.

This infrastructure would encourage mass transporters to adopt EVs for their businesses, providing cost savings of up to 70%. It would thus, reduce the dependence on costly petrol which has been a major blow to our country’s economy, and minimize maintenance expenses.
Moreover, Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin emphasized that EVs require minimal servicing, eliminating the need for monthly oil changes and the challenges of dealing with carburettors, plugs, and other components. They also mitigate the risk of purchasing counterfeit parts and alleviate the complexities associated with repairing fossil-powered vehicles.
