Charles Hoskinson referred to a report of source material to clear the misinformation surrounding the Hydra throughput. The community is criticizing and accusing him of being dishonest and misleading.

Charles Hoskinson comes with the report dating back to 2020 all aimed to clear his former claims that the Layer-1 protocol could help to ascend Cardano’s throughput beyond 1 Million TPS.
He further revealed that the TPS number was more of a theory. It was made on the basis that every Stake Pool Operator (SPO) on the Cardano network would simultaneously run an independent Hydra head, allowing the network to reach a peak of 1 Million TPS, with each head reaching a speed of 1000 TPS.
The Cardano founder also features the TPS charts from Cardano engineers imitating the throughput of Hydra Heads churning out around 1000 TPS. To support his position he also showed the research papers and esteemed journals. Finishing it he said that whatever he said has had source material.
Hoskinson clarified that Cardano didn’t comply with the traditional TPS system but operated on a transaction-per-transaction basis. This changes the outdated TPS metric for evaluating<a href="https://www.thecoinrepublic.com/2023/10/03/will-newfound-recovery-push-cardano-price-ada-above-0-3087/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"> Cardano’s performance.</a>
The protocol to increase the scalability of Cardano went live on Mainnet back in May. This adds a new approach to the transaction process. The fact that the total value of locked (TVL) has increased massively by 220 percent since the beginning of the year is also encouraging. This is the result of the growing popularity and trust of the customers and community.
He also noted that despite the Cardano not abiding by conventional TPS metrics, the network is still doing a lot of DEX and Oracle transactions, NFT drops, and running plentiful smart contracts.
Charles Hoskinson also compared Cardano with Solana. He said that Solana is known for its high throughput rate but comes with a cost in terms of data storage. He emphasizes that Solana’s network has increased to over 200 terabytes in size due to its focus on throughput and if it continues to follow this path the throughput rate could reach to petabyte.
