<p>According to a local news outlet, <a href="https://news.mingpao.com/ins/%e6%b8%af%e8%81%9e/article/20231006/s00001/1696575110462/%e8%a8%b1%e6%ad%a3%e5%ae%87%e7%a8%b1jpex%e6%a1%88%e5%8f%8d%e6%98%a0%e7%9b%a3%e7%ae%a1%e5%bf%85%e8%a6%81-%e6%8c%87%e7%bc%ba%e7%9b%a3%e7%ae%a1%e5%88%b6%e5%ba%a6%e6%9a%ab%e4%b8%8d%e5%87%86%e7%a9%a9%e5%ae%9a%e5%b9%a3%e7%b4%8d%e5%85%a5%e8%b2%b7%e8%b3%a3" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Ming Pao</a>, the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury in Hong Kong, Christopher Hui, has announced that retail trading of stablecoins will not be permitted until the comprehensive stablecoin policy is unveiled next year.</p>
<p>While Hong Kong continues to advance in the adoption of cryptocurrency trading for individual investors, Hui emphasized that regulations for stablecoins such as Tether or USD Coin have not been adopted yet, resulting in the restriction of these assets’ trading for retail investors.</p>
