<p>The Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) have issued guidance on stablecoins, with conditions for their trading and issuance. The CSA’s interim approach to “value-referenced crypto assets” includes provisions for stablecoins that reference the value of a single fiat currency, subject to terms and conditions. The organization had previously warned that the digital coins may constitute securities and were therefore barred from Canadian trading. The CSA said it would need reassurance on reserves and greater public disclosure around governance and operations before it could approve the assets.</p>
