The smartphone is truly a godsend for bored passengers. We basically carry around a miniature computer everywhere we go. We brought up reading before, and while it is certainly an option, some people would prefer not to stay so focused on something while in a car. However, they are still looking for entertainment. And in this case, a great substitute for reading a book, would be reading a comic book, graphic novel, manga, or bande dessinee. 
There is no denying that the comic book movie boom has boosted people’s interest in superheroes and villains. So, why wait for the next Spider-Man movie, when you have 40-years-worth of Spider-Man content to explore?
