Renowned crypto influencer Ben Armstrong, known as BitBoy, has allegedly spent a night in custody and is now facing two charges in the wake of his attention-grabbing arrest during a dramatic livestream. 
<h2 id="span-style-font-weight-400-ben-armstrong-was-held-in-jail-for-8-hours-span">Ben Armstrong was Held in Jail for 8+ Hours</h2> 
According to the <a href="https://cointelegraph.com/news/ben-armstrong-bitboy-arrest-charged-loitering-assault">report</a>, he was held in a cell for slightly more than eight hours, as confirmed by the Gwinnett County, Georgia, Sheriff’s Office. Following this, the cryptocurrency influencer has been released on bail but is now facing charges of “loitering/prowling” and “simple assault by placing another in fear.” The bond amount set for his release is $2,600, in addition to $40 in fees. 
<h3 id="span-style-font-weight-400-jail-sentence-for-up-to-a-year-span">Jail Sentence for Up to a Year</h3> 
As <a href="https://www.georgiacriminallawyer.com/loitering-or-prowling#:~:text=%C2%A716%2D11%2D36%20states,or%20property%20in%20the%20vicinity">stated</a> by the Georgia-based law firm Lawson &amp; Berry, the penalties for a misdemeanor related to prowling and loitering can entail a fine of up to $1,000, a potential jail sentence of up to one year, or a combination of both. 
However, following his bail, the influencer posted: on Sept. 27, “My name is Ben and I’m a loiterer. I did 8 whole hours in the slammer.” 
<h2 id="span-style-font-weight-400-ben-armstrong-to-take-a-week-s-break-span">Ben Armstrong to Take a Week’s Break</h2> 
Furthermore, the influencer informed he is going to take “a week’s break from social media.”

<h3 id="span-style-font-weight-400-charged-confrontation-span">Charged Confrontation</h3> 
What ensued was a chaotic and highly charged confrontation, with Armstrong accusing Diaz of having harmful intentions towards him and even making allegations about Diaz’s supposed ties to the Houston mafia. About 19 minutes into the livestream, local law enforcement officers arrived at the location and took Armstrong into custody. 
In late August, the cryptocurrency community saw the Hit Network, the organization behind the well-known “BitBoy Crypto” brand, <a href="https://thecoinrise.com/bitboy-crypto-parts-ways-with-ben-armstrong/">officially distancing itself from Ben Armstrong</a>, who had been the public figure representing the brand. This separation was attributed to Armstrong’s substance abuse and alleged financial harm caused to the company’s employees.
