Esports tech firm Efuse has launched a Creator League. The firm is promoting the league with the help of big influencers like Bella Poarch, Clix, iShowSpeed, and Mr. Beast who is a YouTube sensation. However, the company has put the project on hold due to the controversy arising due to the use of blockchain. 
Esport Insider and the Sports Business Journal reported on Tuesday that eFuse has laid off 30% of its staff citing the reason that they are restructuring the company. However, they did not confirm the number of staff. 
<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="strong-details-of-the-controversy-and-opinion-of-the-firm-strong">Details of the Controversy and Opinion of the Firm</h2> 
Matthew Benson, CEO of the company, said that the path towards innovation is not easy and they will remain excited about the Creator League and will take some time to respond and act on the community feedback and refine its structure. They will keep learning and pushing the game forward. 
The Creator League has given passes of $20 to gamers and influencers who were leading teams in the esports league. Each pass facilitated the viewers to join an exclusive Discord server, have voting rights related to the league, and participate in some of the competitions. 
Shortly after the launch, some influencers connected to the league and complained about the use of blockchain. This query is responded back by the firm saying that they are using the Near blockchain to validate the data and log information related to the community passes. They also confirmed that the passes are not NFTs. 
Shawn Pavel, VP of engineering at eFuse, in a statement, said that blockchain provides additional transparency to inventory levels. The firm has confirmed that it is not a nonfungible token, not transferable. 
<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="strong-other-influencers-with-their-views-on-creators-league-strong">Other Influencers’ With Their Views on Creators League</h2> 
The Creator League faced the first controversy when one of the eight creators, CDawagVA whose name is used in the League, said that he planned to leave the project. He stated that he did not understand the tech behind the firm. With the current information available, he is planning to withdraw. 
He added that the firm confirmed that it has nothing to do with NFTs and he admitted that he would never agree to join if he knew about it. The unknown OTK co-founder “TipsOut ” said that the esports organization does not know any <a href="https://www.thecoinrepublic.com/2023/08/28/how-promotion-from-the-top-nft-influencers-impacts-investors/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">NFT elements</a> in the Creator League and was told that there is no NFT component. 
Brycent Hohnson, a crypto gaming streamer, tweeted that he has no idea whether the influencers linked with the Creator League were aware of the project’s blockchain connections. He added that eFuse has been always transparent to him and he is aware of the use of Near. 
The purchase page of the Creator Leagues does not reveal that they are using Near on the backend. Although the firm has a blog post on how the pass works, it does not mention that the passes are tracked through the blockchain network. The firm said that they will allow fans to request funds through email. 
<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Summary</h4> 
The firm eFuse is in controversy about not clarifying the usage of Near blockchain openly. The project named Creator League has been delayed. The controversy is regarding the league’s use of blockchain tech.
