<p>A new update to <a href="https://discord.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Discord</a> has most crypto community members disgusted. While the new update does suggest a spike for scam behaviour, it is not only the crypto community that should have their guards up.&nbsp;</p> 
<p>In detail, a new update feature on the popular <a href="https://cryptonewsland.com/after-625m-loss-axie-infinitys-discord-gets-hacked/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Discord platform shows potential for scams</a> to thrive more than ever before. Specifically, the platform is allowing users to post links under false pretenses.&nbsp;</p> 
<p>In particular, this update allows users to share clickable link under another name. FOr instance, a linked word to a gaming website could lead to a malicious site instead. Therefore, unsavory users could trick innocent users into clicking false links.&nbsp;</p> 
<p>Unfortunately, this feature could be used by <a href="https://cryptonewsland.com/crypto-phishing-scam-compromised-account-substantial-losses/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">scammers and phishers</a> to steal users of their data and crypto funds. It is certainly a hassle for users to have their wallets drained upon clicking what they assume to be a safe link.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As we can see from the post above, Discord users are disgusted by the new update. In fact, they are horrified to see that Discord is allowing such an update that could easily trick unsuspecting users.&nbsp;</p> 
<p>In response, many are urging Discord to take serious action and take measures to protect all users, especially the crypto community. Some have responded saying it is not as horrific as it seems to be.&nbsp;</p> 
<p>Based on one response to the post, they say that the platform warns users when they click on the link by signifying leaving the Discord page. Indeed, not all is lost and the message for the crypto community remains the same.&nbsp;</p> 
<p>In a space full of scams it is always important to be extra vigilant. Perhaps Discord will take further action based on the reaction of the Discord community.</p>
