<p>When you pick a blockchain, think about the pros and cons and how they match what you want. Be careful so you don&#39;t lose your money, time, or the trust of your community.</p><p>When you start a special set of digital art called an NFT collection, you have to choose where to make it so it becomes really popular. Even though lots of people are picking the Ethereum and Solana blockchains, it might not be the best choice for your collection. Sometimes, less crowded blockchains like Ripple, Tezos, and Polygon can be like a wide open space where your collection can shine.</p><p>There are lots of other examples of brands that started on not-so-crowded chains. Like, McLaren did two cool launches on Tezos. In April 2022, Volkswagen put their special digital things on Polygon, and in January 2023, Doodles 2 started on Flow.</p><p>But, on the other hand, some brands tried to start on the super-famous Ethereum chain and didn&#39;t do well. For example, Lamborghini started on Ethereum in December 2022, and then we didn&#39;t hear from them again. Porsche started on Ethereum in January 2023, and they only sold 31% of their stuff and had to stop.</p><p>Most collections are started on Ethereum today, but I usually tell my clients not to do that. Why? Well, there are already way too many, like over 150,000 collections on that platform (way too crowded). Plus, the fees to do things are really high, so not as many people want to buy. And people don&#39;t feel too good about this platform right now, so if you want to tell people about your project, it will cost a ton.</p><p>Picking the wrong chain can lead to problems. You might waste time, energy, and money. It&#39;s really important to do a lot of research and think about all the parts of a blockchain before you decide to use it for your NFT collection. If you don&#39;t, you&#39;ll end up dealing with these bad outcomes.</p><h3 id="possible-chain-abandonment">Possible chain abandonment </h3><p><br />The world of blockchains is always changing, and new platforms are popping up because of NFTs. When you pick a chain, you need to be careful. If the chain doesn&#39;t have a good future, if the people making it stop helping, or if it stops working, you and the people who use your NFTs might have to stop using it suddenly. This could make your NFTs not useful anymore, and it might be hard to move them to another good chain later.</p><p>And if you send people to a chain that&#39;s broken, it can make your brand look bad. Also, if your NFT launch doesn&#39;t work out, it&#39;s tough to fix. This could make your brand not as good for a long time.</p><h3 id="no-easy-connection">No easy connection </h3><p>When a platform can easily talk to other apps, places, and wallets, it&#39;s called interoperability. Some blockchains might be linked to bad things like problems, worries about the environment, or not-so-good actions. Others use PoS, and they&#39;re faster and cheaper. PoS is better because it&#39;s not as easy to hurt. Different PoS types like LPoS, DPoS, PoH, and PoSA make things safe and need less energy.</p><h3 id="see-how-fast-it-works">See how fast it works</h3><p>How quick the blockchain moves is really important for your collection and how much you pay. If you pick a slow chain, people might need to give more money to get their stuff done faster. Some chains can do lots of things really quickly, handling many actions each second. But some might be slower.</p><h3 id="staying-safe-and-secure">Staying Safe and Secure</h3><p>Remember, even though we want things to be fast, we can&#39;t forget about keeping everything safe when we pick the best platform for your NFT project. There are ways that bad people can attack blockchains and cause trouble. They might take data, get into things, or take money.</p><p>To stay super safe and avoid these problems, choose a platform that has a good history of focusing on safety. We call this &#34;scalability.&#34; But it&#39;s tricky to have everything at once – being big, safe, and fast. Make sure it fits what you want.</li><li>Be careful so you don&#39;t lose your money, time, and what people think about your stuff.</li><li>If lots of people use a certain network, it&#39;s important for your customers too. Go for blockchains that NFT users like.</li><li>Look into blockchains that are really good for NFTs. They can work well for the people who would like your collection.</li><li>Get help from someone who knows a lot about this. They can help you pick the best chain and avoid bad things.</li></ul>
