Since the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns in 2020, schools and learning institutions have had to rethink their education strategies as they disrupted everyday learning. According to <a href="https://www.unesco.org/en/education" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">UNESCO</a>, more than 1.6 billion students were affected during the pandemic, representing over 90% of learners worldwide. These changes in educational activities affected the expectations of students and teachers, bringing to life a new age of digital transformation in the education sector.&nbsp; 
Founded in 2015, <a href="https://www.tinytap.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">TinyTap</a>, an app that allows users to create their own educational games, has been the standout innovation in the sector during the post-pandemic period. The platform leverages Web 3 technology to help educators own their content and earn royalties while creating a global community of learners who can share, connect, and learn from interactive and exciting personalized learning activities, games, and quizzes.&nbsp; 
We spoke to some of the professors, educators and parents on TinyTap to understand why the platform is so popular and how the technology has helped educators in the sector grow their careers, reach bigger audiences and everything in between.&nbsp; 
<h2 id="span-style-font-weight-400-why-are-educators-and-teachers-joining-tinytap-en-masse-span">Why are educators and teachers joining TinyTap en masse?</h2> 
TinyTap offers a vast library of pre-made educational games and activities created by teachers and educators worldwide. These resources cover a wide range of subjects, including math, science, language arts, social studies, and more. Teachers can browse this library and use existing content or modify and adapt it to suit their specific teaching requirements. 
Yara Habanbou, an educator on TinyTap since 2017, shared her experiences on TinyTap, lauding its global community presence. The platform offers students from around the globe an opportunity to gain knowledge and enhances the education sector via personalized learning experiences.&nbsp; 
“The amount of students and children you might reach through the platform is incredibly rewarding,” Yara shared. “If you are thinking of sharing anything in education or what expertise you are in…don’t hesitate. It is an incredibly rewarding platform.”&nbsp; 
TinyTap, one of the founding members of Open Campus, a community-led protocol for educators, content creators, parents, and students, provides a decentralised and open marketplace for creators. The protocol aims to revolutionize the education sector by creating new paths for learners to gain knowledge and teachers to earn. The platform allows teachers and educators to take their teaching passions and create gamified courses, which can be sold in this open marketplace.&nbsp; 
As Gabi Klaf, a teacher in language studies and ESL for over 30 years, shared: 
“I believe the Open Campus is a paradigm shift. It's a breakthrough in changing how education is around the world,” she said. “As an educator, I was able to take my passion and expertise and create a highly successful business.” 
TinyTap presents an opportunity for educators to use their expertise to create content that they are good at and earn from the course. The higher the level of engagement on your course, the higher your revenue. Since joining TinyTap in 2020, Gabi has launched over 800 interactive games and sold a course for over $35,000 in an auction.&nbsp; 
“I believe that any teacher who wants to put their expertise out there just needs to do it and stay determined, put one game out there, and another, then another, and keep at it with passion,” Klaf said. “I believe most educators can walk away with a portfolio that can be impressive and bring income to their homes.” 
<h2 id="span-style-font-weight-400-integrating-web-3-technology-with-tinytap-span">Integrating Web 3 technology with TinyTap</h2> 
In 2022, TinyTap was acquired by Animoca Brands, a well-known VC in Web 3 companies, aiming to bring blockchain technology to the platform. By integrating blockchain technology, TinyTap is gamifying the education sector, incentivizing educators to create more engaging and interesting content.&nbsp; 
The first Web 3 feature on the platform is the ‘Publisher NFTs’, a novel innovation that allows holders co-publishing rights to a course created by a teacher, thereby enabling holders to support the education material directly. These ‘Publisher NFTs’ give the holder a right to share a portion of the generated revenue with the creator, which is collected from a subscription model.&nbsp; 
Crystal Labbe, VP of Sales at Eurora and an educator for the past 20+ years, believes integrating blockchain into TinyTap will foster global cooperation in the education industry, adding that Publisher NFTs could incentivize “educators and content creators to develop high-quality, interactive, and engaging learning content”.&nbsp; 
“I loved the experience with Publisher NFTs as well as the Web 3 technology that allows me to co-publish my work, entering royalties in future sales,” Labbe said. “These NFTs represent a form of digital ownership for the content&nbsp; educators create, allowing them to monetize their efforts and creativity directly.” 
Asked what drives her to use TinyTap to create and share her content, Labbe said:&nbsp; 
“What do I love most [about TinyTap]? Its mission is to revolutionize the education industry, making education more accessible, inclusive and decentralized.” 
The NFTs also allow teachers and educators to take full control of their content, allowing them to co-publish content and earn royalties on future sales.&nbsp; 
“It provides me with a new revenue stream for my content and protects my IP and creations,” she added. “The platform is community-driven, allowing me to share my knowledge and expertise with the global community.” 
Additionally, TinyTap provides a platform for collaborative learning and knowledge sharing for educators and learners. Via channels such as Playmaker Campaigns, community discussions and events and an active feedback and ratings channel, educators can share ideas, gain insights, and leverage collective expertise in their fields, Labbe further shared.&nbsp; 
By enhancing the learning experience for students and offering educators a new revenue stream, TinyTap is set to revolutionize the education industry. The platform can potentially make global education more accessible, inclusive and decentralized.
