<a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/bitfarms-set-to-boost-mining-capacity-with-quebec-expansion/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Bitfarms</a> Ltd. has begun its development phase for a 50 MW hydropower project in <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/bitfarms-expands-bitcoin-mining-with-renewable-energy-in-paraguay/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Paraguay</a>. Located close to its existing Villarrica facility, this new farm at Paso Pe is expected to be fully operational by Q1 2024. It will include 20 MW of <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/samsungs-3nm-tech-powers-microbts-crypto-miner-marking-commercial-leap-for-gaa-process/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">MicroBT</a> hydro-cooled miners and containers, along with a 30 MW air-cooled facility. 
The hydro-cooled mining technology is a first for <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/bitfarms-set-to-boost-mining-capacity-with-quebec-expansion/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Bitfarms</a> and may be more economical than traditional immersion technology. The newly acquired 1,920 <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/samsungs-3nm-tech-powers-microbts-crypto-miner-marking-commercial-leap-for-gaa-process/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">MicroBT</a> M53S+ hydro miners, which offer 675 PH/s at 28.5 w/TH efficiency, will be one of the highest-performing miners in their fleet. 
Vendor credits will finance the purchases, which helps reduce <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/bitfarms-set-to-boost-mining-capacity-with-quebec-expansion/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Bitfarms</a>' cash expenditure and increase returns. 
With 11 operating farms and 2 in development across <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/alberta-stanovitsya-centrom-majninga-v-kanade-2/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Canada</a>, the <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/major-bitcoin-mining-pool-foundry-usa-to-introduce-fee-structure/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">US</a>, <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/bitfarms-expands-bitcoin-mining-with-renewable-energy-in-paraguay/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Paraguay</a>, and Argentina, <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/bitfarms-set-to-boost-mining-capacity-with-quebec-expansion/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Bitfarms</a> demonstrates a commitment to sustainable and locally sourced energy, using primarily hydro-electric power.
