<p>Former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried “took covert steps intended to improperly discredit a trial witness and taint the jury pool” following allegations that he shared private diaries belonging to Caroline Ellison with the press, according to the US Department of Justice (DoJ). Bankman-Fried’s lawyers had argued that revoking his bail would violate his right to free speech and said that detaining him would raise “serious First Amendment concerns.” However, the DoJ has called for his bail to be revoked. A lawyer files an affidavit from a Harvard professor arguing Bankman-Fried’s right to speak on charges.</p>
