We are pleased to announce the commencement of the testing phase for the new version of our TrustChain blockchain network. The upgraded system utilizes the latest long-term supported Hyperledger Fabric version (2.5.3). The development includes the establishment of multiple virtual organizations within the network structure, enhancing the overall efficiency and scalability of the platform. One of the notable improvements in the new version is the creation of separate organization entities, including the Orderer organization and three Endorser organizations: TE-FOOD endorsers, Supernodes, and Masternodes. In addition to the shared infrastructure provided by the TLS CA, monitoring, and management organization, this structure significantly simplifies the onboarding process for new organizations as certificate issuance is now handled at the organization level. Furthermore, all communications within the network are conducted through secure channels, ensuring the highest level of data integrity and privacy. The chaincode collection and API have undergone significant refactoring, leveraging the latest technologies available. This allows for the distributed execution of various functionalities, such as validation, by Supernodes and Masternodes. By adopting cutting-edge tools and techniques, TE-FOOD aims to enhance the overall performance and robustness of its traceability solution. While the current system will remain operational for an extended period, TE-FOOD is committed to migrating the data to the new system. The transition will provide numerous advantages, especially with the migration of the World State database from the previous Golevel to CouchDB. This shift enables more complex searches and introduces indexing capabilities, resulting in faster and more efficient data retrieval. We are excited about the testing phase of the new version of our TrustChain blockchain network. By embracing the latest advancements in blockchain technology, TE-FOOD continues to strengthen its position as a trusted provider of food traceability solutions, promoting transparency and accountability throughout the global supply chain.
