<h2 id="header-0">Judge&#39;s LBRY ruling may impact Ripple case, awaits SEC decision</h2><p>In a recent ruling, New Hampshire District Court Judge Paul Barbadoro declined to determine whether the secondary sale of LBRY Credits (LBC) constitutes a security in the case brought by the SEC against LBRY. This ruling may have implications for the ongoing SEC case against <strong><a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-currency-news/ripples-legal-battle-a-potential-turning-point-for-crypto" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Ripple</a></strong>. In January, lawyer John Deaton convinced Judge Barbadoro that secondary sales of LBC do not qualify as securities offerings. However, the SEC won a summary judgment in November 2022 and later settled for $22 million. The SEC now seeks a fine of $111,000 due to LBRY&#39;s financial situation. District Court Judge Analisa Torres is expected to deliver a ruling on the SEC&#39;s case against Ripple within the next couple of months.</p>
