  <p class="is-style-lead">7-Eleven, the world’s largest convenience store chain, just tapped into the non-fungible token (NFT) ecosystem on its 96th birthday.</p> 
  <p>According to the <a href="https://corp.7-eleven.com/corp-press-releases/happy-slurpee-day-7-eleven-inc-turns-96-today-celebrates-with-free-slurpee-drinks-and-limited-edition-digital-collectibles-" data-type="URL" data-id="https://corp.7-eleven.com/corp-press-releases/happy-slurpee-day-7-eleven-inc-turns-96-today-celebrates-with-free-slurpee-drinks-and-limited-edition-digital-collectibles-" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">press release</a>, the largest convenience store chain launched its “Find Your Slurpee Vibe” collection on Polygon. 7-Eleven allows customers to virtually create different drinks on the Slurpee Vibe app, which is available on mobile devices only.&nbsp;</p> 
  <p>Marissa Jarratt, 7-Eleven executive vice president, told that thanks to the NFTs, the customers can virtually curate specialty drinks to find their own Slurpee vibe. Moreover, users can mint their creations and claim the NFT in their wallets on the Polygon chain.&nbsp;</p>

  <p>It’s important to note that 7-Eleven did not mention the word NFT in its entire press release — calling them digital collectibles instead.&nbsp;</p> 
  <p>On the other hand, 7-Eleven’s virtual collection does not operate as traditional NFTs. Users can mint the assets, but they can’t store, trade or transfer the digital collectibles, per its terms of service agreement.</p>

  <p>However, 7-Eleven is not the first food or drink brand to enter the decentralized space. In March, Starbucks launched its limited edition NFTs collection and <a href="https://crypto.news/starbucks-sells-out-2k-nfts-in-under-20-minutes/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">sold</a> 2,000 collectibles in the first 20 minutes of the launch.</p> 
  <p>In late 2021, Burger King partnered with Robinhood to give away different cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/bitcoin/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">BTC</a>), ethereum (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/ethereum/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">ETH</a>) and dogecoin (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/dogecoin/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">DOGE</a>) to its customers.</p>
