<a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/riot-platforms-record-bitcoin-production-and-strategic-partnerships/">Riot Platforms</a>, the largest U.S. Bitcoin mining firm, announced a historic partnership with MicroBT. This collaboration will introduce ASIC manufacturing to America. It marks a significant move in boosting the domestic supply chain, according to <a href="https://bitcoinmagazine.com/business/microbt-brings-asic-manufacturing-to-america-in-partnership-with-riot-platforms">bitcoinmagazine</a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
The partnership is set to secure miners for Riot's Corsicana facility. This step will raise the company's developed capacity to 1.6 GW. Riot claim it will lead to higher energy efficiency and job creation. 
The highlight of this collaboration is an expected increase in Riot's self-mining hash rate capacity. Projections show that Riot's self-mining hash rate capacity will soar by 61% to over 20 EH/s by mid-2024. This leap will solidify Riot's standing in the Bitcoin mining industry. 
Historically, Bitcoin miner manufacturing has been an Asia-focused activity. However, Riot and MicroBT's partnership marks a shift. They're now bolstering the domestic supply chain in the U.S., offering a wider selection of machines to Bitcoin miners. 
Moreover, this collaboration won't just benefit the industry. It also creates jobs locally. MicroBT plans to manufacture the machines at a new U.S. facility. This move will generate much-needed employment opportunities.
