<p>Binance-founded blockchain BNB Chain has introduced a new layer-2 chain called opBNB to address its scalability issues. opBNB, based on the Optimism OP Stack, aims to enhance security and scalability on the <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-currency-news/binanceus-counters-sec-claims-rejects-fund-freeze-motion" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Binance</a> blockchain network. It is compatible with Ethereum&#39;s smart contracts and ERC-20 tokens. The new solution can support over 4,000 transactions per second with lower transaction costs. Some skeptics argue that BNB Chain could have explored other scaling options, such as joining Optimism as a &#34;superchain&#34; or becoming a Layer-2 directly on Ethereum. BNB Chain is the third largest DeFi platform in terms of total value locked, with $3.38 billion locked in DeFi protocols.</p>
