Romanian prosecutors have confiscated 21 bitcoins worth $565,000 from Andrew Tate, a British-Romanian kickboxing champion and internet personality, amid rape and human trafficking charges.   
The charges against Tate stem from an investigation into an alleged sex trafficking ring that operated in Romania. Tate is accused of using his position as a kickboxing champion to lure young women into the country, where they were forced to work as prostitutes.

In April 2023, Romanian prosecutors issued an arrest warrant for Tate, who was then living in the United States. Tate was extradited to Romania in June 2023 and is currently in pre-trial detention.   
As part of the investigation, prosecutors seized 21 bitcoins from Tate's cryptocurrency wallet. The bitcoins were confiscated under a Romanian law that allows prosecutors to seize assets that are believed to be the proceeds of a crime.   
The confiscation of the bitcoins is a significant development in the case against Tate. The bitcoins are believed to be worth around $565,000, which could be used to compensate the victims of the alleged sex trafficking ring.   
Tate has denied all of the charges against him. He has claimed that the allegations are politically motivated and that he is the victim of a "witch hunt."
