Representatives of DEX include Uniswap and SuperEx.</p><p>Decentralized exchanges and centralized exchanges have coexisted for many years, but since the rise of DeFi (Decentralized Finance) in 2020 and Uniswap’s outstanding performance, many investors have shifted their attention to DEX. Over the past three years, DEX’s share of the crypto trading market has been increasing. Many crypto enthusiasts believe that the market share of decentralized exchanges might increase significantly in the future.</p><p>This article will provide a detailed introduction and comparison between SuperEx, as a representative of DEX, and CEX. Let’s see which one suits you best!</p><p>The Difference between SuperEx and Traditional CEX</p><h2 id="header-0">CEX exchanges</h2><p>The trading process of CEX is similar to banks. Users transfer their assets into the exchange, complete crypto-crypto transactions under the endorsement of the exchange, and then withdraw the assets to their own wallet. Centralized exchanges, such as Binance, CEX.io, Kraken, or OKEx, all have their own ledgers. Every order made by users is recorded and verified. To ensure accuracy, data is exchanged internally through dedicated servers and through a centralized security process.</p><p>However, the essence of CEX trading is that sellers transfer coins to CEX’s account custody, and the coins purchased by the buyer are also transferred to a sub-account in CEX. Only when the coins are withdrawn to the wallet, do they truly belong to the user. So, if CEX closed, whether it’s the buyer or the seller, the coins opened in the CEX account will vanish.</p><h2 id="header-1">SuperEx</h2><p>SuperEx is a decentralized exchange, providing not only the core trading function of a CEX, but also allows users to trade with the DEX’s smart contract address using their own wallet (users can apply for SuperWallets on SuperEx or import their own wallets, but users always hold the private keys). We call this: internal authorization. Internal authorization ensures the freedom and anonymity of decentralization, creating a secure and private trading environment for users.</p><p>As a decentralized exchange, SuperEx Dex supports one-click connection of multiple chains for users’ decentralized wallet authorization, perpetual contract trading, spot trading, and more. SuperEx Dex is responsible for providing liquidity, matching trades are completed by smart contracts, and trade settlements are all done on the blockchain.</p><p>At the same time, trade information is recorded on the blockchain and can be publicly queried and cannot be tampered with, ensuring the security and transparency of transaction information.</p><p>Compared with traditional CEX exchanges, their asset custody does not use blockchain technology, lacking the characteristics of immutability and traceability. Users need to first transfer funds to a dedicated account opened by the exchange.</p><p>Transactions between users are booked by the exchange, and transaction information is only recorded in the internal ledger of the exchange, not in the immutable blockchain. Therefore, the trading process of centralized exchanges lacks transparency. If the trading platform maliciously manipulates, the cost of tampering with transaction records is very low.</p><h2 id="header-4">Second Dimension: SuperEx Authenticator</h2><p>The SuperEx Authenticator is a dynamic password tool launched by SuperEx to address the issue of malicious attacks on SuperEx accounts.</p><p>The SuperEx Authenticator generates a six-digit number every 30 seconds. After users log into SuperEx and pass the image verification, they need to enter the generated dynamic password to successfully verify and achieve “two-factor authentication” for account protection.</p><p>Currently, in SuperEx, steps such as access, withdrawal, and trading all require second-factor verification from the Authenticator, providing maximum coverage for the security of one’s liquid assets.</p><h2 id="header-5">Third Dimension: SuperWallets</h2><p>The integrated decentralized SuperWallets, a multi-chain Hierarchical Deterministic wallet, has achieved perfect interaction with the SuperEx trading end. We call this: external authorization. External authorization provides SuperEx with “asset isolation”, no matter what irresistible factors occur, it will not affect the encrypted assets on the Super Wallet. As long as users back up their mnemonic phrases or private keys, they can dispose of their crypto assets at any time. The platform has no control over user assets, and will not be affected by platform security, political, or other factors. At the same time, the centralized trading platform’s wallet holds a large amount of user funds, which due to its size, is very susceptible to hacker attacks or platform runaways.
