<p>Welcome to our first recap of 2023. It has been an extremely busy time for Solar.</p><p>Read this article to refresh your memory and reflect on the progress that we have made.</p><h2 id="header-0">Bithumb completed the swap to mainnet 3rd January</h2><p>After suspending deposits and withdrawals of the old SXP tokens, Bithumb  successfully completed the swap to Solar mainnet. Founded in 2014,  Bithumb is one of the oldest cryptocurrency exchanges still operating  today.</p><h2 id="header-1">AMA with StealthEX 27th January</h2><p>Solar  Brand Ambassador Elaine Egan met with Maria Carola, CEO of StealthEX.  The session was lively and Elaine answered many questions from the  StealthEX community about Solar. The 5 best questions were awarded a  share of 500 SXP.</p><h2 id="header-2">MEXC completes the swap to mainnet 10th February</h2><p>MEXC  announced that they would no longer accept legacy SXP tokens and they  now only accept deposits and withdrawals of mainnet SXP. MEXC was  founded in 2018 and operates in over 170 countries and regions.</p><h2 id="header-3">Introducing Solar Debit Card 12th February</h2><p>This announcement marked a significant step forward in the future of Solar. The announcement introduced <a href="https://choise.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Choise.com</a> as the company behind the card and presented the Early Bird program  which offered incentives for the first 5000 Solar card sign ups.</p><p>To find out more about the Solar Debit Card please join the Dokdo community on Telegram <a href="https://t.me/dokdo_official" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">https://t.me/dokdo_official</a></p><h2 id="header-4">Huobi began the swap to mainnet 17th February</h2><p>Huobi  Global was founded in 2013 in Beijing to provide a cryptocurrency  trading platform for individuals in mainland China and beyond. It  quickly rose to become one of the three big crypto exchanges in China.  Huobi announced that all deposits and withdrawals of SXP legacy tokens  would be suspended and its swap to SXP mainnet would begin.</p><p>Update: Huobi has now completed the swap to mainnet</p><h2 id="header-5">Solar Debit Card AMAs 19th February</h2><p>Nayiem  held 3 AMAs to answer community questions about the Solar debit card.  The AMAs were held in the Korea, Türkiye and Global Solar Telegram  Channels. The AMAs were well attended and the questions were many and varied. We are certain that our community learned a lot about the Solar debit card from these sessions.</p><h2 id="header-6">Coinone announced support for mainnet SXP 27th February</h2><p>Coinone  announced that it was now only accepting deposits and withdrawals of  mainnet SXP. Coinone is a centralised cryptocurrency exchange  established in 2016 and is registered in South Korea.</p><p>Update: Coinone has now completed the swap to mainnet</p><h2 id="header-7">Solar announced the closure of the Swap Portal 7th March</h2><p>The  Solar swap portal has been open for more than a year and the time has  come to close it. The closure of the portal will become a significant  point in the history of Solar as this will usher in the next phase in  development. The closure has been announced on all Solar channels and we  will continue to draw attention to it to ensure that as many people as  possible are informed.</p><h2 id="header-8">Whitebit announced support of mainnet SXP 10th March</h2><p>Whitebit  is often referred to as one of Europe’s largest cryptocurrency  exchanges. Founded in 2018 in Ukraine it has 3.5 million users  worldwide. Suitable for both advanced and novice traders, users can now  trade SXP/USDT on Whitebit.</p><h2 id="header-9">CoinEx announced support of mainnet SXP 13th March</h2><p>CoinEx  was founded in 2017 and caters to approximately 15 different language areas for its users. Users can trade over 500 different cryptocurrencies as well as take part in staking, futures and spot trading. Users can now trade SXP mainnet on CoinEx.</p><h2 id="header-10">Launch of Solarscan 28th March</h2><p>We  said goodbye to the old legacy block explorer and hello to the new technologically advanced Solarscan. The legacy block explorer had been with us since the launch of mainnet but its design and user-experience was not adequate enough to enable the solutions of the future. The new Solarscan by contrast is faster, has more functionality and has a much better user interface. Solarscan is not a Solar Blockchain Foundation product but we are very happy with its functionality.</p><h2 id="header-11">Binance announcement 28th March</h2><p>Binance announced their intention to support the swap from Swipe SXP to mainnet SXP. This announcement was met with great enthusiasm by the Solar community. Binance stated that all ERC20, BEP2 and BEP20 Swipe (SXP) tokens will be migrated to the Solar mainnet at a ratio of 1 Swipe (SXP)  &#61; 1 Solar (SXP). No date was given for the swap at this time, but as soon as we receive any information we will share it with our community.</p><p>Update: Binance has now completed the swap to mainnet</p><h2 id="header-12">Solar Desktop Wallet Update 30th March</h2><p>There  were a series of updates to the Solar Desktop Wallet which came out in quick succession. They amended important issues including:</p><ul><li>Allowing encrypted passwords to work with non-latin characters.</li><li>Refreshing the terminology used throughout the wallet to be more consistent</li><li>Changed the explorer links to use Solarscan</li><li>Resolving an issue that affected the use of encrypted passwords with the previous release</li></ul><h2 id="header-13">SXP Giveaway on Twitter 31st March</h2><p>Solar  held its first giveaway on Twitter. The aim of the event was to engage  and grow our community. The giveaway was simple to enter and 50 lucky  entrants each received 100 SXP. It was a huge success and saw a significant rise in the number of people joining our Solar main Telegram group and following us on Twitter. We would like to take this  opportunity to welcome all these new community members.</p><h2 id="header-14">District 53 Events</h2><h2 id="header-15">Capture the Flag 15th January</h2><p>The  year began with an awesome CTF event in the District 53 main server.  The winners shared an incredible prize pool of 5000 SXP. Players battled to capture their enemies’ flags whilst protecting their own.</p><h2 id="header-16">Parkour Event 29th January</h2><p>Players demonstrated their skills by sprinting, jumping and climbing their way around the D53 Parkour course. The first 5 fastest players that reached  the podium at the end of the race shared the incredible prize pool of 1000 SXP.</p><h2 id="header-17">Battle Event 19th February</h2><p>This  was an awesome event where players experienced all the thrills of the ancient Roman arena in the District 53 main server. They tested their fighting skills against other players and were prepared to fight to the death. Prizes were awarded to the last 5 gladiators standing. The prize pool was a massive 2,500 SXP!</p><h2 id="header-18">Royal Rumble 26th February</h2><p>After  the success of the Battle Events, District 53 changed things up a  little. They added a little extra excitement to the Battle Arena. Instead of gladiators fighting one on one, the Royal Rumble saw gladiators fight each other simultaneously. There were 5 rounds in total and the winners shared a prize pool of 2,500 SXP.</p><h2 id="header-19">Block Producer Donations</h2><p>We would like to thank the following block producers for their donations to the prize pools. In the meantime you may have noticed new terminology has been brought in across our ecosystem. This is in advance of the launch of Core 5.0 which will be released this year and we eagerly await its arrival and the extra functionality it promises to bring. However, we will continue to move forward making more connections and bringing Solar to a wider global market.
