Here’s a recap for those who missed the opportunity to participate in the AMA.<h4>TL;DR</h4><ul><li>Big Time, the top Web3 game streamed on Twitch, has been voted as the Web3 Game of the Year by multiple external organizations</li><li>Big Time has about 50 full-time members, including a team with strong blockchain experience led by Ari Meilich, the co-founder of Decentraland</li><li>The next significant milestone is the .27 patch, scheduled to be released this summer</li><li>The personal universe in Big Time begins with SPACE, allowing players to expand their unique areas and equip utilities</li><li>Big Time allows users to own their digital items unlike in many web2 games where cosmetics are non-transferable</li></ul><h4>[Introduction]</h4>Q. Please introduce yourself.Matthew: Hello, thanks for having me. I’m the guild manager with Big Time. I’ve been with the team since January 2022.Q. Please provide a brief introduction to Big Time.Matthew: Big Time is a free-to-play RPG for PCs. The gameplay is similar to World of Warcraft and Diablo.<h4>[Pre-collected Q&amp;A]</h4>Q1. How has the team’s experience and background contributed to the project’s success to date?Matthew: Big Time Studios has recruited an all-star team of game industry veterans from Epic Games, Rockstar, Riot, Activision, Blizzard, and more. Individually, we’ve contributed to some of the best-loved franchises in gaming history, including Fortnite, Gears of War, Grand Theft Auto, Call of Duty, and Overwatch, just to name a few.With this team, we did over $110 million in NFT sales and won the Polkastarter and Web3 Gam3R Game of the Year Awards. This was all possible because of the great experience and innovation from the Big Time team.Q2. How many team members do you have? Do they have enough experience in the blockchain field? Do they have any experience on working in crypto and non-crypto project?Matthew: We have about 50 full-time members, as well as more volunteers that help moderate our social media channels.Yes, our team has strong Block Chain experience. Ari Meilich was the cofounder of Decentraland, which is still one of the largest market cap web3 games. Our team has strong crypto and non-crypto experience.Q3. What are the key milestones on your roadmap — both things you have already achieved and things that we can look forward to? Any partnerships and short/long-term technical milestones that you want to talk about or bring some attention to?Matthew: So far we have already released an alpha version of our game that people have been playing for over a year. We’re consistently the top web3 game that is streamed on Twitch. We have released new content for our game approximately every 8 weeks since we launched. We’re committed to adding more content to the game for years to come.Our next major milestone will be the .27 patch, which we hope to release this summer. This will be the implementation of the token and crafting components of our economy, where users can collect in-game items and make their own cosmetics to change the appearance of their character or sell them on the marketplace. The .28 patch and beyond will unveil more characters, classes, and worlds for players to explore.Q4. Are players required to buy NFTs to be able to play them later?Matthew: No. All the digital collectibles in Big Time are cosmetic. They don’t give an in-game competitive advantage.Q5. How is the distribution of tokenomics to players, Dev, and liquidity?Matthew: Players personal universe starts with SPACE, which expands their own unique areas. Players can then equip Utilities onto their space. These utilities are the Time Warden, Forge, and Armory. When a user equips a Time Warden, the user can collect a token as a drop while they battle through the game. With the Forges and Armories, users can create their own cosmetics or weapons. What you put into Big Time is what you get out of it. If you don’t have SPACE or a utility, you’re far less likely to acquire digital collectibles.Users can check out wiki.bigtime.gg if they have more questions.Q6. I have seen a lot of gaming projects, and out of them only a few projects are successful, what is your plan?Matthew: We’ve already released our game and keep adding more content. Gaming is a tough industry to break into, but fortunately players are enjoying our game and we keep making the experience better.Q7. When will this game launch on Android?Matthew: It’s just on PC for now. We don’t have a date for releasing it on Android.Q8. What are the advantages of playing this game?Matthew: It’s been voted the Web3 Game of the Year by multiple outside organizations and users can create &amp; own &amp; sell their own cosmetics.Q9. What are the status and important qualities that a launch platform must have in order offer other projects with the most efficient and genuine techniques and platforms to go to market? Would they be in need of incubation and pre and post-launch counseling in addition to launching?Matthew: I’m not quite sure what you mean, but I’ll do my best to understand and answer. I don’t want to talk about other games or projects, but I can speak a little about Big Time. For us, the player experience is important above all else. We want to make a game that people want to play, that’s a genuine AAA gaming experience. The economy and the marketing and everything else we do is critical to supporting that.We have used our Alpha to learn about what player’s like and how we can build on that. We work on this game in close coordination with our community and we take their feedback very seriously. We’re going to keep adding to this game over time and expanding the gameplay so that users always have new things to look forward to.Q10. A portion of projects must discuss “long-term vision and mission,” but what are your short-term goals? What are you currently focusing on? The first step, particularly the diversion, is always critical in establishing a financial foundation for the subsequent stepsMatthew: Our short-term focus is the .27 patch and unveiling the economy for users to start playing. We’ll keep adding content to the game after that too.I’m not sure what you mean by ‘diversion’. But we were fortunate to have a series of successful sales and a marketplace that people use to transact the items they find in the game.Q11. How is Big Time different from other RPG games?Matthew: We allow users to own their digital items. In many web2 games, users can buy a cosmetic but can’t alter or resell it afterward. At Big Time, we don’t sell cosmetics. All of the skins on openloot.com are items that users found while playing the game. Big Time is a truly player-run economy, which is very different from other RPGs. With the .27 patch, users can forge their own cosmetics, which gives them even further control over the economy.Q12. What’s the difference between all the passes including Ruby/Silver/Jade etc?Matthew: Gold Pass players started playing in April 2022. Silver Pass Players started playing in May 2022. Jade Pass Players started playing in June 2022. Each of those pass periods had significantly higher NFT drop rates than what we have right now. We’re currently in the Ruby Pass period. It doesn’t matter what pass you have, everyone gets the same drop rates and gets to play the same game.Q13. What are the odds of winning the game?Matthew: You can’t win ‘Big Time.’ There’s unlimited content.Q14. Any plans to add support to other platforms? Steamdeck, macOS, etc.Matthew: We have several users who already play Big Time on their Steamdeck. We’re still PC-focused for now but would love to expand. I don’t have any set dates for when that expansion would be though.Q15. What is Big Time’s roadmap for the next few years?Matthew: I think I’ve covered this already. But we’ll keep adding more content to the game every couple of months for likely many more years. Some of the next features include new character classes, more dungeons, more combat, and social features (like Guild Association) inside the game.<h4>[Live Q&amp;A]</h4>Q1.
