ICOs serve as fundraising mechanisms for crypto startups, where a new cryptocurrency is created and sold to investors in exchange for existing cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin or Ethereum, or even fiat currency like USD.In most cases, these crypto startups promise investors that the issued tokens will eventually have a specific use within their own native blockchain.
