As science fiction begins to resemble reality more closely, it&#39;s crucial to critically examine how ultra-powerful AI might reshape human society.The AI narrative has shifted from being mere speculation to plausible scenarios, given the exponential advances in AI. Predictions from OpenAI suggest AI systems may surpass human skill levels in most domains within the next decade, which, if accurate, would revolutionize various sectors and industries. Such progress, however, brings with it a series of questions: What roles would humans play in this technologically saturated world? Would we transform into couch potatoes, as portrayed in &#34;Wall-E&#34;, or would we navigate the world differently?Addressing these questions requires a significant amount of speculation. We assume a world where AI is benevolent, controllable, and distinguishable from humans. AI becomes a virtual, super-smart, and extremely cost-effective tool that eliminates constraints such as energy limits, and brings about significant economic growth by automating all production and research processes. Even as technology advances, humans seem to have an innate desire to feel superior to others, engage in entertainment and sports, and participate in political procedures.One may argue that the advent of ultra-powerful AI might dilute human interest in certain activities, but evidence suggests otherwise. Similarly, other AI-conquered games like Go and various video games have seen a surge in players. This suggests that humans might not only continue engaging in such games but also derive pleasure from watching them.Political participation is another area where humans are unlikely to cede control to AI. Despite the capabilities of AI, political procedures derive their legitimacy from human participation. The interplay between AI capabilities and human social tendencies is complex and multifaceted. The potential emergence of a technologically advanced world raises profound questions about the core nature of being human and the social aspects that make us distinct. As AI continues to advance, society must grapple with the challenges and opportunities it presents, keeping a keen eye on the potential consequences and trade-offs of living in a world where AI exceeds human capabilities.
