<p>If you consider the Nigerian tech ecosystem as a book, most of us have only read a few pages, or at best, a few chapters. That is because most of what we reckon as the Nigerian tech space involves key players in just about 5 locations/hubs or cities around the country: Lagos, Abuja, Portharcourt, Ibadan and maybe Uyo.</p>



<p>Consequently, founders and influencers in these locations have enjoyed unparalleled benefits in terms of media exposure and access to supportive communities, mentors and investors. As a  key stakeholder in the ecosystem, we are committed to upending the balance by seeking out players that are outside of the notable ecosystems.</p>



<p>Recall that at the beginning of this year, we promised to <a href="https://technext24.com/2023/01/31/introducing-technext-events-2023/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">improve our physical event </a>plans to maximize social impact and coverage and align with our corporate objective of documenting the African tech narrative<em>&nbsp;in a language everyone can understand.</em> </p>



<p>A significant introduction is the Technext Tour and Tournament (TnT). TnT is our window to the rest of the tech community in Nigeria (later Africa). Our goal is to tell underreported stories of the Nigerian tech community like never before. </p>



<h4 id="technext-tour">Technext Tour</h4>



<p><em>Tour and Tournament aim</em>s<em> to put the creative innovations in these regions at the forefront of the tech ecosystem and provide the opportunity to discover the next big solutions provider that would impact the African tech ecosystem.&nbsp;&nbsp;</em></p>



<p>The tour will feature visits to tech hubs, media houses, campuses, incubation hubs, groups and government tech hubs in 10 cities across <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_Nigeria" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Southern Nigeria</a>. These include Abeokuta, Ibadan, Ile-Ife, Akure, Benin, Asaba, Enugu, Portharcourt, Uyo and Lagos between <strong>July 13 and 30th</strong></p>

<p>And this will conclude with a tournament for the best innovators from these hubs in Lagos. </p>



<p>The Technext team would physically interact with over two hundred thousand participants via different events, including town hall meetings, lectures, and panel sessions. Millions more would be engaged across other channels, including radio, tv, and online media. </p>



<p>The tour would provide an avenue to understand the mindset and expectations of the country’s future leaders.</p>

<h4 id="the-tournament">The Tournament </h4>



<p>Technext TnT will also feature a mini-event in each of the 9 locations. As part of the events,  select founders from the local hubs will participate in a pitch session. Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their innovative ideas to a panel of judges.</p>



<p>The adjudged most impressive innovations would win prizes and qualify for the final tournament to showcase their innovations at the finale in Lagos.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The tour will be crowned with a final event in Lagos. The highlight of the grand event is a pitch session by winners from the 9 locations and the entrants from Lagos. This will take place n the 4th of August. There, participants will have the opportunity to compete for cash prizes, mentorship and other opportunities.</p>



<p>We believe that this will provide a platform for innovators to grow fledgling ideas into full-fleshed startups.</p>



<h4 id="be-a-partner">Be a partner</h4>



<p>The Technext TnT would provide sponsors, stakeholders, and interested parties to interact with about 250,000 students, about 8,000,000 (eight million) radio listeners and 9 startup communities across 10 cities in Nigeria.</p>
