The Friends of George art collective is teaming up with coach <a href="https://gwsports.com/staff-directory/chris-caputo/396">Chris Caputo</a> of the <a href="https://gwsports.com/">George Washington Colonials</a> basketball team on an experiential NIL NFT drop on the ReserveBlock RBX Network this month. The “Raise High” NFTs are an extremely limited edition of digital collectibles designed to benefit the GW basketball team and its student athletes, with their release timed to coincide with the team’s appearance in the Atlantic Ten Tournament in Brooklyn, New York this month.

<a href="http://reserveblock.io/">ReserveBlock</a>, a blockchain platform with a focus on NFTs and the democratization of digital assets, said the Raise High NFTs will drop on coach Caputo’s RBX Web Wallet Auction on Friday, May 12 at 1.00 PM ET, with the sale set to end three days later at 1:00 PM ET on May 15.

The Raise High collection consists of just six one-of-one NFTs minted on the RBX network that provide access to unique digital and physical assets, including real-life experiences in the form of interactions with coach Caputo and the GW Basketball team’s athletes. It’s a unique drop that will enable student athletes to receive direct compensation from the use of their name, image and likeness (NIL) in a digital asset. Fans, students, FOG sponsors and anyone else will have direct access to bid on the tokens, without any need to interact with a third-party. NFT holders will also be able to trade the tokens, thanks to RBX’s innovative peer-to-peer NFT marketplace technology, which enables anyone to sell their digital assets directly.

NFT holders may potentially also unlock benefits for future FOG NIL NFT events in future, and all proceeds from the sale will be donated by coach Caputo to benefit GW’s basketball program and student athletes.

<a href="https://twitter.com/Friendsofgw_">Friends of George</a> is an artistic collective associated with GW University that’s dedicated to empowering student athletes to achieve their potential, whether that’s in the classroom, in competition and in life itself. To do this, FOG intends to equip students with the hard-earned resources needed to achieve their goals. In the longer-term, it aims to facilitate a P2P marketplace for GW student athletes to trade digital assets while offering expertise and mentorship from its alumni base and experts in areas such as business, medicine, law, politics and finance.

Caputo explained that while the primary goal of the team is to bring a title home, doing so starts by solidifying the team’s connectivity to its community. It needs the support of its fans to win, he asserted.

“I believe this is a unique way to bring our players and fans together in a more engaging way and utilizing blockchain technology gives us a unique opportunity to do just that,” Caputo said. “We welcome this type of engagement for our student athletes. As NIL empowers them, we want to encourage forward thinking use that goes well beyond just earning potential.”

To participate in the Raise High NFT auction, download the RBX Web Wallet at <a href="http://reserveblock.io/">ReserveBlock.io</a>, sign in with a username and password, click the P2P Auctions tab and then select the “FOG Aim High Auction House” to start bidding. Users will need to purchase $RBX tokens first, which can be acquired via the BitMart, Bitrue or MEXC Global cryptocurrency exchanges.
