<h2 id="header-0">Gemini to open new engineering hub in India to tap into top tech talent and expand business teams in the Asia Pacific</h2>Gemini, the US-based cryptocurrency exchange, has announced the opening of a new engineering hub in Gurgaon, <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-blogs-details/all-about-the-indian-budget-2023-and-crypto-regulations" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">India</a>, with the aim of tapping into the country&#39;s pool of top tech talent.The exchange stated that it will be its second-largest engineering hub after its US hub, and will focus on developing web and mobile user experiences, platform compliance, data pipelines, warehousing, security, payments, and new feature sets for Gemini&#39;s non-fungible token (NFT) and crypto asset marketplaces.The exchange is currently setting up an engineering facility in India, according to Pravjit Tiwana, who is also serving as CEO of Gemini Asia Pacific in addition to his position as the exchange&#39;s worldwide CTO.Gemini&#39;s India arm will also focus on expanding its business teams in India and Singapore, with a goal of growing Asia Pacific-based institutional and individual customers. Gemini&#39;s founders, Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, have stated that the exchange has big plans for international growth this year in the Asia Pacific region, starting with its India hub.<h3 id="gemini-files-pre-registration-with-ontario-securities-commission-and-eyes-the-canadian-market">Gemini files pre-registration with Ontario Securities Commission and eyes the Canadian market</h3>This move follows Gemini&#39;s recent announcement that it has filed a pre-registration undertaking with the Ontario Securities Commission, a mandatory requirement for <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-blogs-details/top-five-cryptocurrency-exchanges-in-india" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">cryptocurrency exchanges</a> seeking to conduct business in Canada and become restricted dealers in the country. Gemini has also signaled its interest in expanding its business teams outside of the US by establishing an engineering hub in India.Gemini&#39;s careers page lists 18 roles, 14 of which are engineering positions, and one seeking a regional vice president. The exchange reported that it is actively hiring talent in India, acknowledging the country&#39;s reputation as a hotbed for technology talent. Gemini&#39;s new Indian engineering hub will be its second-largest, following the hub in the United States.This development follows Coinbase&#39;s recent announcement of its interest in building more of its business outside of the US. Peer exchange Coinbase has also received a license to operate in Bermuda. As many in the industry are unhappy with the regulatory treatment of crypto firms, more cryptocurrency exchanges may seek to expand their operations outside of the US.
