Host <a href="https://twitter.com/AndrewHemingway" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Andrew Hemingway</a>, Policy Lead for TRON DAO, welcomes expert guests to deliver insights and analysis on the most current news and trends in crypto policy.&nbsp; 
With three episodes already released, the podcast has already covered topics such as the culture of current lawmakers, regulatory needs in the blockchain industry, and ways to add clarity and definition to existing laws for the crypto marketplace. The launch date for the first episode was February 15, 2023.&nbsp; 
 
EPISODE ONE 
In the first TPR episode, Hemingway spoke with <a href="https://twitter.com/ARedbord" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Ari Redbord</a> from <a href="https://twitter.com/trmlabs" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">TRM Labs</a>, a digital asset compliance and risk management <a href="https://www.trmlabs.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">company</a> that monitors, detects, and investigates crypto fraud and financial crime. They discussed the future of crypto regulations, the focus of governing authorities, and the culture of current lawmakers.&nbsp; 
Redbord framed the current dilemma policy makers and regulatory authorities are facing when he rhetorically posed, “How do we thread the needle between ensuring that bad actors are not taking advantage of this new financial system yet at the same time providing the privacy that is necessary as people are transacting in a more and more open financial system?”&nbsp;

EPISODE TWO 
<a href="https://twitter.com/DrLisaCameronMP" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Dr. Lisa Cameron</a> joined TPR’s host for <a href="https://twitter.com/i/status/1633596112581042176" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">episode two</a>. As a Member of Parliament (MP) in the United Kingdom, Dr. Cameron represents three districts near Glasgow, Scotland – East Kilbride, Strathaven, &amp; Lesmahagow. She serves as a leader in the UK House of Commons and as chair of the crypto and digital assets all-party parliamentary group <a href="https://twitter.com/CryptoUKAssoc" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">CryptoUK</a>, which is the trade body representing the digital asset sector in the UK that works directly with policy makers &amp; market participants to develop balanced policy.&nbsp; 
“We are at the start of a new industrial revolution,” Dr. Cameron explained. She described how her role in cryptocurrency regulation grew out of necessity once she realized this topic was not yet being discussed in parliament, despite the fact that millions of people in the UK were already engaged in cryptocurrency. Dr. Cameron hopes to “[establish] education within the Parliament,” to facilitate informed decisions for proper regulation in the industry. “These open dialogues and debates are crucial,” she warned, making it imperative to understand the technology quickly in order to move forward confidently in a changing world.

In the most recent episode, Hemingway welcomed <a href="https://twitter.com/EconWithNick" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Nick Anthony</a>, policy analyst with the <a href="https://twitter.com/CatoInstitute" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Cato Institute</a>‘s Center for Monetary and Financial Alternatives (<a href="https://twitter.com/CatoCMFA" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">CatoCMFA</a>), a think tank project dedicated to finding alternatives to failed monetary and financial regimes. <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/nick-anthony-042/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Anthony</a> is also a fellow at the Human Rights Foundation (<a href="https://twitter.com/HRF" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">HRF</a>). 
Hemingway and Anthony addressed the current state of crypto regulation in the U.S. Congress and the quagmire leading policy makers are in due to the stigma surrounding the blockchain industry. The discussion included ways to add clarity and definition to existing laws for the crypto marketplace while acknowledging the challenges of the political process. Anthony pointed out, “One of the challenges right now is that you want policymakers to be fast, but the faster they are, the more mistakes that tend to be made.” This challenge leads to a deficiency of activity from Congress and the relative independence of regulatory agencies.
