The ongoing high- and low-profile lawsuits keep going: a company announced its operation was closing; the founders of the Forsage &#34;Ponzi scheme&#34; were indicted; and, more interestingly, you need to limit how you publicly use some emojis (emoticons&#x1f525;&#x1f4c8;&#x1f680;), as they can now be construed as financial advice and might attract serious legal consequences.</p><h2 id="header-0">SBF has been hit with new charges</h2><p>Sam Bankman-Fried was struck with brand new criminal accusations on Thursday. An expanding indictment accuses the founder of the now-defunct FTX cryptocurrency exchange of conspiring to make over 300 illegal political contributions. Bankman-Fried was previously charged with eight counts but now faces twelve, including four counts of fraud and eight counts of conspiracy. He has pleaded not guilty to all the charges.</p><h2 id="header-1">Users rejoice as FTX Japan allows them to withdraw funds</h2><p>Users of FTX Japan have started withdrawing all of their funds from the defunct cryptocurrency exchange. This came while FTX customers worldwide are still patiently waiting for an outcome of the high-profile bankruptcy and fraud lawsuit against the FTX exchange and its former CEO, Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF).</p><p>FTX Japan resumed withdraws on Feb. 21 — which involved moving funds from the defunct exchange to a Liquid Japan account. However, on February 22, 2023, <a href="https://help-jp.ftx.com/hc/ja/articles/15841421543577" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">they shared </a>a report on the usage status of the “withdrawal and withdrawal services” for FTX Japan and Liquid Japan accounts.</p><h2 id="header-2">A judge rules that using some emojis count as financial advice and has legal consequences</h2><p>As one of the most interesting pieces of news over the last week, using certain emojis when posting tweets on Twitter conveys to people that they should expect a financial return on their investments. This was brought about by a federal judge.</p><p>This decision specifically has an impact on crypto-Twitter, where tweets frequently feature emojis that indicate potential profits, such as the rocket, the chart with an upward trend, and the money bag.</p><p>The judge made the decision in a lawsuit brought against Dapper Labs and its CEO, Roham Gharegozlou, for allegedly breaking securities rules when they offered their NBA Top Shot Moments.</p><p>The plaintiffs claimed that Dapper Labs promoted NBA Shot Moments as investment opportunities through its marketing materials and “carefully chosen emojis.”</p><p>“Although the literal word “profit” is not included in any of the tweets, the “rocket ship” emoji, “stock chart” emoji, and “money bag” emoji objectively mean one thing: a financial return on investment,” the document states.</p><h2 id="header-3">Man arrested over alleged crypto mine hidden under a school</h2><p>A former worker in a Massachusetts town is allegedly accused of setting up a covert cryptocurrency mining operation in a remote crawl space at a school, according to a recent report.</p><p>Nadeam Nahas, 39, was due to be arraigned on charges of fraudulent electricity use and criminal damage to a school on Thursday, February 23, but he failed to appear, and a judge issued a default warrant after denying a defense motion to reschedule, per a representative of the Norfolk district attorney&#39;s office.</p><p>According to court documents, Nahas allegedly stole $17,492.57 in electricity from the town as the computers ran nonstop near the boiler room in the basement.</p><h2 id="header-4">Forsage founders over $340 million fraud</h2><p>A federal grand jury in the District of Oregon has indicted the Russian creators of the alleged $340 million “global Ponzi” scheme Forsage, according to a statement released by the US Department of Justice on February 22.</p><p>Vladimir Okhotnikov, Olena Oblamska, Mikhail Sergeev, and Sergey Maslakov, the four accused, have been legally charged with playing significant roles in the pyramid or Ponzi scheme that deceived millions of unsuspecting investors.</p><h2 id="header-5">The SEC files a motion against Binance.US bid for Voyager assets</h2><p>The acquisition of more than $1 billion in assets from the now-defunct cryptocurrency lending company Voyager Digital by Binance US has drawn opposition from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of the United States.</p><p>The SEC thinks some aspects of Binance&#39;s asset restructuring plan are illegal and might violate securities laws, according to a Feb. 22 filing made to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.</p><p>The SEC claims, among other things, that it is not sufficiently clear from the information provided in the proposed acquisition of Voyager assets whether Binance.US or associated third parties will have access to client wallet keys or control over anyone with such access.</p><h2 id="header-6">This Week in MelegaSwap</h2><h3 id="susumi-coin-susu">Susumi Coin (SUSU)</h3><p>SUSU is the native Token for the Susumi Platform.
