<p>(<a href="https://medium.com/&#64;chris0804/an-open-letter-from-thundercore-founder-chris-wang-3774fc1361ce" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">From Chris Wang personal Blog</a>)<br />It’s a great privilege to celebrate another year of success at <a href="https://www.thundercore.com/?lang&#61;en" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">ThunderCore</a>, and I’d like to thank all our <a href="https://www.thundercore.com/ecosystem/?lang&#61;en" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">ecosystem</a> partners and stakeholders who’ve made that possible. While the blockchain industry came in for a difficult year in 2022, we’ve been fortunate enough to not only weather the storm but continuously grow, becoming an <a href="https://medium.com/&#64;chris0804/thundercore-masters-ecosystem-retention-in-mass-adoption-quest-46886c2bd3df" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">industry leader</a> in ecosystem retention. Meanwhile, we implement how we bring web2 existing applications to integrate seamlessly with web3 features. There are still some projects on their way to adapt to blockchain ecosystem, we keep embracing those web2 brands onboarding web3.</p><p>On our roadmap for 2023, the first stop is the V3 update to our <a href="https://blog.thundercore.com/thundercores-developer-growth-program-v3-update-77ea5d7f211c" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Developer Growth Program</a>. With the V3 update, we aim to attract a diverse range of projects in the decentralized finance (DeFi), GameFi, and metaverse sectors. Coupled with our successful strategy of acquiring and retaining users through a focus on entertainment-first DApps, these sectors provide both the bedrock for ThunderCore and all we are trying to achieve, as well as the arena to truly shine when compared with layer-1 chains. We’ve also streamlined the program, clarified grant milestones, and reduced phase requirements to enable more developers to build on ThunderCore easily.</p><p>Our vision for 2023 is to iterate further on the significant progress in 2022 and to inspire widespread investment in the future of ThunderCore and the entire Web3 community. As a leading public blockchain, we incentivize developers to build in our ecosystem and drive growth. The key to our success lies not just in our technology but in our talent pool. We value our builders, and as we take our next steps, we always have them in mind.</p><h2 id="header-0">ThunderCore’s 2023 focus</h2><p>Below, I’ve outlined some of our priorities for the year, expanding on our official <a href="https://www.thundercore.com/roadmap/?lang&#61;en" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">ThunderCore roadmap</a> in greater detail.</p><h2 id="header-1">DeFi integrations</h2><p>Building on the increased decentralization that <a href="https://blog.thundercore.com/introducing-thundercore-2-0-be9697a49238" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">ThunderCore 2.0</a> has brought, we will continue our push into DeFi In the coming year.</p><p>ThunderCore is pursuing on-chain deployments for the best possible <a href="https://blog.thundercore.com/thundercore-is-broadening-its-reach-into-defi-6bccb709d2cf" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">DeFi</a> protocols out there, including Curve, Compound, and Aave. Such protocols have shown they can withstand intense market headwinds, and their proven stability will remain core to the success of the entire industry going forward.</p><p>By bringing these DeFi champions and others onto ThunderCore, we will substantially increase our total value locked (TVL) and strengthen the DeFi utilization in our community. Meanwhile, we are in the process of establishing a new revenue-sharing market with decentralized exchanges (<a href="https://blog.thundercore.com/comparing-the-dexes-on-thundercore-f3ead252a93e" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">DEXs</a>).</p><h2 id="header-2">Ecosystem enrichment and interoperability</h2><p>ThunderCore will continue to be a comprehensive blockchain platform, bringing in the best projects from all corners of the industry. Whether it’s our entertainment-driven focus in arenas like GameFi, SocialFi, and the metaverse; blockchain core sectors like non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and DeFi; or multi-chain wallet services and other infrastructure, we will continue to recruit the best innovators around.</p><p>Interoperability remains key to ensuring we remain a leading blockchain. We have expanded our interoperability in the last year through partnerships with multi-chain wallets such as Crypto.com Wallet, CoolWallet, and BitKeep, as well as with cross-chain bridges like <a href="https://blog.thundercore.com/multichain-begins-cross-chain-support-for-thundercore-cd00c22558f5" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Multichain</a>, the leader in its field. This year, we’ll weave ThunderCore even deeper into the rest of the blockchain world.</p><h2 id="header-3">Payment Solutions</h2><p>Buying, selling, trading, and staking our native ecosystem asset TT is now easier than ever thanks to our growing range of quick and affordable supported fiat ramps. These payment systems boost the utility of $TT and bring in new users.</p><p>Last year, our new partnerships with <a href="https://blog.thundercore.com/thundercores-tt-wallet-integrates-coinbase-pay-for-fiat-to-crypto-purchases-895d90bceed9" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Coinbase Pay</a>, <a href="https://blog.thundercore.com/binance-connect-integrates-into-tt-wallet-fd4319e6ce7a" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Binance Connect</a>, and <a href="https://blog.thundercore.com/thundercore-partners-with-transak-in-trust-wallet-for-greater-tt-flexibility-6f76dfe91332" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Transak</a> greatly expanded the financial entry points to our network. We intend to take things further in 2023, launching an e-payment service for $TT.</p><h2 id="header-4">Identity Innovations</h2><p>ThunderCore will overhaul how we manage identity on-chain this year to help our users store and manage their digital identities and assets more securely and conveniently.</p><p>Through improvements to our on-chain data mechanisms regarding identity, we aim to leverage our top 5 daily-active-user (DAU) count to attract more partners and projects, further boosting ThunderCore and driving blockchain mass adoption.</p><p><strong>Decentralized identifiers (DIDs):</strong> These are globally unique means of consistently <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decentralized_identifier" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">verifying identities</a> over time without needing a centralized system. Their implementation on ThunderCore will take convenience to the next level for our users while better enabling our partners to facilitate services.</p><p><strong>Soulbound tokens (SBT):</strong> These are non-transferable digital tokens that convey a person’s social identity on the blockchain. <a href="https://www.coindesk.com/learn/what-are-soulbound-tokens-the-non-transferrable-nft-explained/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">SBTs</a> can represent commitments, credentials, affiliations, and more. They can be self-certified or issued by other individuals or institutions. It’s a concept that will be crucial to the blockchain going forward, and ThunderCore will be diving headfirst into this new trend in 2023.</p><p><strong>Blockchain Naming Service (BNS):</strong> These operate similarly to a Domain Name System (DNS) but with added security and functionality. <a href="https://geekflare.com/blockchain-naming-service-bns-platforms/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">BNS</a> domains are decentralized, transparent, and secure. They use easy-to-remember addresses for data storage and secure payments and cannot be censored. BNS implementation on ThunderCore will simplify those complicated blockchain addresses that everyone always triple-checks before sending a payment.</p><p><strong>Proof of Attendance Protocol (POAP): </strong>We’re introducing a system similar to <a href="https://academy.binance.com/en/glossary/proof-of-attendance-protocol-poap" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">POAP</a>, which records specific on-chain behaviors. This not only provides users with a tangible representation of their activity but incentivizes them to continue contributing to our ecosystem.</p><p><strong>Quest-based projects: </strong>To further engage and motivate users, ThunderCore is also expanding our <a href="https://help.thundercore.com/hc/en-us/articles/900006699743-Quest-Tutorial" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">quest-based projects</a>. These projects allow users to complete tasks, earn rewards, and progress through a series of challenges, making the experience of using our platform more fun and profitable.</p><h2 id="header-5">Southeast Asia outreach</h2><p>ThunderCore is a global blockchain, with users in over 100 countries. This year, we will expand our international presence with an emphasis on the Southeast Asian market.</p><p>In 2022, ThunderCore began what may turn out to be among our most consequential <a href="https://blog.thundercore.com/thundercore-and-fico-partner-for-web3-mass-adoption-ccbf5645c26d" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">partnerships</a> to date when we joined up with the FICO Corporation, a Thailand-based MNC, to generate a steady stream of collaborations with <a href="https://medium.com/&#64;chris0804/web-2-5-is-the-gateway-to-crypto-mass-adoption-5a7ad7d2a291" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Web2</a> companies looking to get started on the blockchain.</p><p>We’ll continue our work converting FICO’s vast partner list into new ThunderCore deployments over the course of the year, in particular through our cooperation with FICO’s Web3 subsidiary <a href="https://kkventureglobal.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">KK Venture</a>. Meanwhile, we have additional partnerships brewing in the region, such as with Vietnam’s <a href="https://www.ventorylabs.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Ventory Labs</a>.</p><h2 id="header-6">Living up to our ideals</h2><p>At ThunderCore, we believe in empowering our community and fostering greater participation in our network, all in the pursuit of creating a more transparent, secure, and user-friendly public blockchain.</p><p>We are dedicated to the goal of decentralization, recognizing the vital role it plays in ensuring a truly open ecosystem. We will be rolling out many further upgrades and implementations over the course of the year to further these ends.</p><p>Thank you for taking an interest in our chain.
