<h2 id="header-0">How the business environment has changed since 2019 </h2>Unlike most companies in the blockchain space, TE-FOOD generates revenue from its core operations, paid by customers. We can operate the company from the revenues. But we are part of the global economy, and the events which affect the economy have effect on TE-FOOD as well. After a decade of prosperity, the economy had several issues since late 2019. It started with a wide African Swine Fever (ASF) epidemic in Southeast Asia, which decimated the livestock in many countries, including Vietnam, where our largest traceability program is running. The ASF epidemic hasn&#39;t ended yet, when the world was hit by the Covid pandemic, in which a large part of supply chains were affected. In such circumstances, supply chains were fighting for their exsistence, so high tech IT projects, even if they are improving food safety were deprioritized. Two years later, when the vawes of the pandemic started to move away, it seemed that restarting such a wide scale program with thousands of participants, and governmental operation is slow and difficult. At the same time in 2022, the fear of inflation and the growing possibility of economic recession our other markets - primarily in Europe - slowed down food traceability implementation projects. These are normal reactions to situations, when the business environment has a negative change, but certainly it&#39;s unfortunate to have three such disasters in a row. <h2 id="header-1">How we see the future </h2>We see that blockchain based traceability disrupts supply chain structures, where some of the participants were gaining profit from greenwashing, frauds, no real added value (besides knowing people), or unjustified extra profit. These participants are always unhappy to see that technology could disrupt the status quo, and do everything they can to stop or postpone it. Only the consumers and regulators have the power to change these supply chains for the better. Nevertheless of the temporary difficulties, we at TE-FOOD see that the consumer demand, and regulatory approach will lead toward a more strictry regulated agriculture and food industry. Food companies will be obliged to provide data about the origins and production methods of their food products. Certain events in the economy can slow down this transition, but it won&#39;t stop it from happening. And TE-FOOD has a great position to provide solutions for all kinds of supply chain companies from farmers, through producers, to retailers. Though a bit different, but this situation reminds us of the 90s, when the founders of TE-FOOD built their first product, an e-commerce solution. Most potential customers weren&#39;t keen to believe that e-commerce will be really a thing, beyond books, and maybe compact disks. Ten years later the situation had changed significantly, and e-commerce had become part of everyone&#39;s life. Distruptions take time, and the bigger the resistance, the longer the transition. But eventually, nothing can stop progress. <h2 id="header-2">Utilizing token reserves </h2>In 2018, TE-FOOD&#39;s original token distribution model outlined that 43% of the tokens remained at TE-FOOD, as company tokens for future use. These tokens were locked at that time, and got unlocked in two steps, in 2019, and 2020. However, technically these tokens were not used after unlocking. We think this is the time to prepare for the future expansion of our ecosystem. This is why in 2022, the company decided to create a long term plan on utilizing a part of the company tokens in programs which help the growth of TE-FOOD&#39;s supply chain ecosystem. In order to achieve our goals, we created two pools. The Ecosystem Engagement Pool focuses on marketing and engagement activities, which aim to expand the usage of the TONE token on the TrustChain. These programs might raise awareness of new potential participants and users, as well as providing visibility for new (even non-traceability focused) projects. New products, new initiatives, which lead to new audience all fall into this category. Simply put, the goal is more awareness, and broader spectrum for our ecosystem (horizontal growth). The Ecosystem Incentive Pool focuses on business development activities, which aim to deepen the collaboration of TE-FOOD and the users of the TrustChain. These programs aim to catalyze the utilization of our blockchain based solutions, which increases the amount of transactions and TONE token usage. Enhancing existing products, deepening the collaboration with existing customers, partners or other participants fall in this category. Simply put, the goal is deeper collaboration with the ecosystem users (vertical growth). The basic goal for all of these activities is to increase the usage of our ecosystem, in order to increase operations, which results in improved token velocity. Just as in every business activity, some of them will be successful, some not. But as always, we will announce any development achievements whenever they are in a phase when they can be, and allowed to be published.
