<img src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/revue/items/images/019/733/587/web/121.png?1672472995" />It was last year’s December, we started our journey to build this great DID Infrastructure for gamers with the cliche-sounding name WoWarriors (you must be the real OG of CARV if you still remember the name). Holding the belief that in the future, playing digital games can be more than just a habit; it can be a natural professional choice for a rather wide range of people.When we started, there was no talk about web3 credentials, no discussion or consideration of web3 credentials, it was the pinnacle of play-to-earn and NFT games. It was a time when games with high APY promises were being released without any real gameplay elements to back them up, and bot gamers were exploiting the in-game tokenomics to such a degree that real players simply couldn&#39;t enjoy the game as much as they should have been able to.And Vitalik hasn’t even released the article about SoulBound Tokens (SBTs) yet.<h2 id="header-0">What an amazing year we shared together!</h2><h3 id="strong-x1f60d-it-all-starts-with-community-strong">&#x1f60d; It all starts with community</h3>On May 11th, we launched our website for public testing. CARVers are able to participate in various game events, e.g. AMAs, in-game activities, quiz and game nights, game testing opportunities, etc. The public testing also comes with the feature to record your game achievements as NFTs (later as SBTs) for the first time.On June 10th, we launched our Guardian Program. It became CARV’s first step towards DAO since we build on Community, act as a community and grow with the community. Thanks to the talents from all over the world to BUIDL with us, managing the community, creating high-quality content and reaching out to the gaming partners. Up until now, they helped us host 20&#43; events in the community, creating 30&#43; articles and reaching out to more than 80&#43; games.Now we have 28 guardians reached Legend Guardian level, 10 of those have reached Ancient level, Showcasing their dedication and commitments to the CARV’s community. It is a testament to their character and integrity that they are willing to put in extra effort to co-buidl with CARV! We owe a great debt of gratitude to our devoted guardians, we are truly blessed to have such a dedicated team of individuals, they truly are an inspiration, and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts for their incredible contributions.In July, we launched the Dragonball: carvers arise campaign. CARVers enjoyed some cool community games and participated in our events for earning Dragonball Fragments. CARV’s community becomes a lovely place for Degens to gather and share some good times in games.Thanks to the incredible support of our 500K&#43; beloved CARVers, you are a huge part of why we continue to strive to create better products and experiences. For gamers out there, it provides the perfect place to find quality games backed by thousands of genuine reviews, which were written by those who were proven to play the game before by their on-chain history. You can access a range of metrics to better evaluate a game, such as genres, status, community size, and trading volume. It becomes one of the best web3 game launchpads and the game filtering tool out there.In September, carv.io received the event page overhaul. It offers CARVers an array of enjoyable activities to take part in, with the primary objective of resolving the marketing issues that games face. Whether it&#39;s a live show such as the AMAs, a social quest like sharing some promotional material, or even in-game quests that require gamers to actually participate in the game and accomplish something, CARV is here to get you covered. We have developed a platform that enables users to easily engage in tasks, activities, and events that can be further proved by the results. Whether you&#39;re targeting the casual gamer or the hardcore enthusiast, CARV has you covered with our powerful tools for hosting both on-chain and off-chain activities.As we progressed, it became increasingly apparent that these credential infrastructures were essential to the world of crypto. It enables gamers to record their achievements on-chain as Proof of Work, showcasing their skills and enabling them with a more streamlined and efficient way to achievement display, semantic social, and access to gaming premiums. Thus, strong collaborations keep coming in the bear market!In October, we established the collaboration with games and guilds on the NEAR ecosystem (Human Guild, Metamon, Battlemon, Crystals Of Naramunz, World of the Abyss, Amber), Oasys, the gaming blockchain optimized for gamers, some of the big names in gamefi including Apeiron, Splinterlands, to uprising games such as ArchLoot. At the end of November, we were selected by BNB Chain for Incubator and became partners with BNB Chain. Hosting the CARVnival campaign in 22 days, with 30 badges, 17 AMAs, 13 in-game quests, and 28 partners joining the event, it became one of the most participated campaigns during the fourth quarter of 2022 in the crypto market.In 2022, CARV has partnered with 110&#43; web3 games, covering 75%&#43; of all blockchain games with 1K&#43; monthly UAW, backed by prominent investors, or well-received in the community. 2022 was definitely a year for BUIDL and collaborations!We are incredibly grateful to our gaming partners who have shown us immense support in 2022. Their contributions have been invaluable in helping us to build and maintain a strong and successful gaming platform, allowing us to reach out to even more players and create a vibrant and enjoyable gaming experience. We cannot thank them enough for the dedication, commitment and passion they have demonstrated in our journey together.<h3 id="x1f917-we-have-been-trusted-by-our-backers-who-fully-believe-in-our-mission-and-vision">&#x1f917; We have been trusted by our backers, who fully believe in our mission and vision</h3>On Nov. 24th, CARV officially announced to raise $4M in seed funding led by Vertex, Temasek Holding’s venture capital arm, with participation from EVOS (ATTN Group), SNACKCLUB, Infinity Ventures Crypto, YGG SEA, UpHonest Capital, Lyrik Ventures, Lintentry Foundation, PAKADAO, 7UpDAO, Angel Investor Aliaksandr Hadzilin (NEAR’s co-founder), among others. Many investors bring infrastructure and gaming ecosystem synergies to CARV, especially across the US, Europe, LATAM, and Southeast Asia markets.The funding is essential for the bear market and it means a great deal for the CARV team. The timing of this round indicates investors&#39; confidence in CARV&#39;s vision and execution capability. It supports the company with more resources to expand and develop the interoperable credential infrastructure. Enabling CARV to work alongside existing partners in the ecosystem to foster growth.We want to extend our sincerest gratitude to all of our amazing backers who have placed their trust in us and allowed us to explore the possibilities of a new gaming platform. The combined effect of these events caused the market to reach a new low, one that had not been seen before. The economic ramifications of these events were far-reaching, and their effects were felt by many investors and traders.As the market continued to suffer, it looked like it would take a long time for it to recover. We can’t predict what’s going to happen in 2023, but one thing is for sure, CARV won&#39;t be bothered by those noises.
