<h2 id="header-0">By acquiring 2,500 Bitcoin, Michael Saylor&#39;s MicroStrategy brings its total Bitcoin holdings up to 132,500 as on December 27, 2022.</h2><p>Michael Saylor, a Bitcoin maximalist, revealed on Wednesday that MicroStrategy had purchased 2,500 Bitcoins. According to an SEC filing, MicroStrategy held almost 132,500 bitcoin as of December 27. This bitcoin were purchased for more than $4 billion at an average cost of $30,397 per bitcoin.</p><p>MicroStrategy&#39;s purchases of bitcoin have historically been a bullish sign for the price of BTC. However, despite the new revelation, the price of bitcoin has not much changed.</p><h3 id="amid-a-decline-microstrategy-increases-its-bitcoin-holdings">Amid a decline, MicroStrategy increases its Bitcoin holdings.</h3><p>Between November 1 and December 21, <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-currency-news/microstrategy-earnings-whats-next-largest-bitcoin-holding-company" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">MicroStrategy</a> purchased 2,395 Bitcoins through its wholly-owned company MacroStrategy for around $42.8 million.</p><p>In addition, MacroStrategy sold over 704 bitcoins on December 22 for a total cash revenues of $11.8 million, at an average price of nearly $16,7776. The sale of Bitcoin by MicroStrategy was a first. On December 24, however, MacroStrategy bought about 810 bitcoins for roughly $13.6 million in cash.</p><p>As a result, the value of the 132,500 Bitcoin held by MicroStrategy and its affiliates as on December 27, 2022, is around $4.03 billion. This results in a $30,397 average purchasing price per Bitcoin.</p><p>After purchasing about 301 Bitcoins between August 2 and September 19, 2022, MicroStrategy announced its total Bitcoin holdings of 130,000 BTC in September. Additionally, the business sold $500 million worth of Class A MSTR shares via the investment banks BTIG LLC and Cowen &amp; Co. The money was utilised for &#34;general corporate objectives, including the purchase of bitcoin,&#34; according to the report.</p><h3 id="can-the-price-of-bitcoin-rise-above-17-000-right-now">Can the price of bitcoin rise above $17,000 right now?</h3><p>The price of <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-currency/bitcoin-btc-prices-usd" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">bitcoin</a> is currently $16,540, down 1% from the previous day. Bitcoin&#39;s 24-hour low and high are, respectively, $16,455 and $16,778.</p><p>Crypto Twitter spread the MicroStrategy news, but there was no discernible change in the price of bitcoin. However, there is still hope that the price of BTC will return to at least $16,8K.</p><p>Since the middle of November, Bitcoin has been moving sideways near the $16.8K mark. However, selloffs in cryptocurrencies were triggered by the recent breakthrough below the support level over the past 24 hours.</p><p>According to cryptocurrency analysts, a monthly closure of the Bitcoin price over $16,900–$17,000 is necessary for a bullish surge in 2023.</p>
