Dear Stakeholders, Community, Investors, Rightsholders, and Team,It would be impossible not to write this letter.Not because the moment demands it, but because it is ethically required.72 hours ago, one of the biggest exchanges in the world (surprisingly?) collapsed: FTX.And these words are, before anyone else, directed towards those affected by suspended deposits and, particularly, to all holders of FTT and other associated tokens like Solana.Times like these demand a united community and therefore I share my public solidarity with you all.My way of living does not coexist in harmony with scams.In fact, my last 8 years have been dedicated to promoting the truth, which is the core purpose of the existence of Blockchain technology.(Un)fortunately, I had the opportunity of witnessing the failure of MtGox; the Ethereum DaoHack; the demise of Gatecoin; the disappearance of Cryptopia; the Quadriga scandal.However, this year is testing all the limits.First TERRA/LUNA,Then Celsius,And now FTX.Different tragedies, equal signs: Greed. Lies. Hypocrisy. Fraud.In an objective analysis, I must confess that I never admired SBF.He has always lacked that touch of technological poetry that Jobs or Musk, in their own way, naturally displayed.The colossal gap that separates us is tremendously simple:In 2021, during an interview, SBF stated that he never believed in the vision or fundamentals of Web3 and decentralization. He simply looked at the industry as a vehicle to generate unlimited amounts of money.I agree about making money. But the only way to execute is through genuine belief, respecting and honoring what is most worthy of the industry: the possibility of building a new paradigm based on transparency and delegating to technology a task that mankind permanently fails to resist — the temptation to be corrupted by money.As CEO of RealFevr, I regret what happened. But I am in no way surprised. And in this sense, throughout RealFevr’s growth, there have been and there will always be unbreakable pillars, lines that we have never and will never cross which allow us to mitigate the damage caused by these agents, today and in the future:a) 95% of the company’s assets are in self-custody-air-gapped-multisig-cold-storage. No threatening exposure to exchanges or any other 3rd party custodial provider.b) RealFevr is well capitalized in EUR and has a Runway &gt; 2 years.c) No matter how successful we have been or will be, we have not and will never lose ourselves. We never lost focus. We never lost humility.d) Our discipline and financial organization allowed us to be the only crypto-joint-stock company in 2021 in Portugal to have officially audited and certified accounts. Probably, one of the first in Europe as well.e) Our product is objectively decentralized. At no time do we take custody of our users’ assets, nor do I believe we ever will. The commonly-quoted phrase “not your keys, not your coins” is a categorical imperative at RealFevr.f) I am the CEO. But I am not God. Omnipresent. Omnipotent. Omni-whatever. RealFevr Governance has a board of competent people, with very high levels of critical thinking and every single crucial decision requires consensus.And despite all that I have written and without wanting to sound opportunistic, I must touchpoint on the opportunities this current situation brings us:1) All IP contracts will have their prices revised downwards and many existing ones will default — A good opportunity for Realfevr!2) The consequential failure of companies resulting from this situation will unleash a lot of talent back into the market — A good opportunity for RealFevr!3) In the short term, the impact of this scandal is yet to be discovered but it is my absolute conviction that in the medium-long term the industry will come back stronger, more mature, and more regulated — A good opportunity for Realfevr!Finally, the secret of building a multi-billion-dollar company is, in my opinion, knowing how to convert, in these pivotal moments, rage and frustration into product and execution. I am more motivated than ever to carry out that vision with distinction. Not alone, but with an unstoppable team with an equal or superior will.And much more can be expected from us.Because while the market doubts and hesitates, we are unshakably certain that:a) FEVR Battle Arena, the first of his class, will change the worldwide paradigm in Web3 mini-games.b) The next IP partnerships that we will announce will have and see in us the most complete and reliable partner possible.c) The brave new world of NFTs will finally have a practical use, without Ponzi schemes and lookalikes.d) Our commitment, our discipline, and our focus are strengthened and more alert.Make no mistake: I am absolutely furious. More angry than disappointed.
