Less than 48 hours after Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao announced intentions to bail out competitor FTX, Binance stated that it would not be pursuing the deal.
It cited “reports regarding mishandled customer funds and alleged US agency investigations.”
Binance’s nonbinding letter of intent for the takeover included due diligence requirements and the ability to back out at any time.
