In the derivatives market, BTC open interest increased by $451 million while aggregated funding rates continued to be negative, as compared to the previous week. Volatile price movement on October 13 caused BTC to fall below $19k, triggering $219 million long positions to be liquidated on that day alone. The sell-off then led to a rally to $19.8k, the coin’s highest in the week, before retracing to more modest levels.
