<h2 id="header-0">In Kazakhstan, a banking institution and a coin trading platform have partnered to carry out what they claim is the nation&#39;s first combined transaction of this kind for the purchase of cryptocurrencies.</h2><p>The government of Kazakhstan has stated that it is prepared to advance the development of cryptocurrency trading in the country&#39;s financial centre.</p><h2 id="header-1">Kazakhstan&#39;s First Banking Operation Using Cryptoassets Unlocks the Market for Legal Coin Purchases</h2><p>Eurasian Bank, with its headquarters in Almaty, and Intebix, a cryptocurrency exchange established in Kazakhstan, said that they had completed what they described as the nation&#39;s first transaction involving a consumer, a trading platform for digital assets, and a financial institution. The transaction, in which local fiat cash was used to purchase bitcoin, was disclosed at the Digital Bridge 2022 seminar.</p><p>According to a press statement from Eurasian Bank, this precedent allows Kazakhs to buy cryptocurrencies lawfully using tenge, and the bank&#39;s in-house solution allowed it to establish one of the lowest fees in the world for such a transaction. Talgat Dosanov, the director of Intebix Exchange, went even farther, asserting that this was the first exchange-bank-client transaction involving cryptocurrencies in all of Euraasia.</p><p>Regulators approved a pilot set of rules in May of this year that, with certain restrictions, allow cryptocurrency transactions in Kazakhstan. Banks must abide by the established rules while cryptocurrency exchanges must receive a licence in order to participate in the initiative. According to the government, the framework complies with international requirements for transaction security and oversight.</p><p>The procedure for purchasing cryptocurrency with Kazakhstani tenge was shown to the chief of state of the nation. If the pilot is successful, the initiative will be developed further to enable crypto asset trading in the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC), the country of Central Asia&#39;s financial hub, according to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.</p><p>Tokayev stressed that Kazakhstan wants to take the lead in regulated digital mining, new digital technologies, and the cryptocurrency ecosystem. He was cited as adding, &#34;If this financial instrument shows additional demand and security, then it will undoubtedly gain complete legal recognition.&#34;</p><p>This past summer, when authorised crypto exchanges were permitted to open accounts with domestic banks, the AIFC&#39;s pilot operation got underway. The testing involves Halyk Bank, Altyn Bank, and Eurasian Bank in addition to two trading platforms, Intebix (doing business as Biteeu in the EU and Australia), and Ataix Eurasia. By the end of 2022, the pilot will have concluded.</p>
