The cryptocurrency market has reacted negatively to the announcement by the United States Federal Reserve's chairman, Jerome Powell, of an interest rate rise. The cryptocurrency market capitalization has dropped below $900 million as a result of a 4.50% fall in the price of ETHEREUM from its intra-day high of $1409 to $1270 at the time of writing.

The price of the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization has fallen in the midst of last week's Merge, the historical technological upgrade of the Ethereum network, as investors value its prospective, long-term advantages above immediate price effect.
Ethereum attempted to gain bullish momentum over the $1,400 level. However, ETH struggled to break through the $1,420 barrier and reacted badly to the downside.
There was a significant drop below $1,350 and $1,320. Furthermore, there was a break below a key bullish trend line with support at $1,325 on the hourly chart of ETH/USD. The pair even went through $1,350 and remained far below the 100 hourly simple moving average.
As mentioned in our previous Price Analysis On September 17th, we forecasted that a Head and Shoulder pattern would form on the daily chart, the neckline would be breached, and the currency would trade below it. The immediate goal, according to pattern analysis, may be around $1250. A comeback is possible if ETH sustains this level. If ETH fails to maintain this level, it might fall to approximately the 52-week low.
According to <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/price-analysis" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Price Analysis</a>, The market capitalization of this ETH is estimated to be $154,830,732,357. The 24-hour trading volume for the coin is around $21,773,287,397. ETH market capitalization has fallen by 5.21%. However, trade volume increased by 53.90% during intraday trading. The market capitalization to volume ratio is 0.1406.
The price of ether has hit a new weekly low of $1,220 and is currently consolidating losses. It is approaching the 23.6% Fib retracement level of the recent drop from the swing high of $1,409 to the low of $1,220. On the upside, resistance is situated at the $1,285 level. The next major resistance is at $1,320. It is around the 50% Fib retracement level of the recent drop from the $1,409 swing high to the $1,219 low. The primary barrier is located at $1,350 and the 100 hourly SMA.
A decisive break over $1,350 might start a decent rally towards $1,420. Any more gains may open the door for a move towards the $1,500 resistance. If ethereum fails to break through the $1,320 barrier level, it may continue to fall. On the downside, initial support is near $1,240. The next significant support level is at $1,220. A breach below the $1,220 support level could trigger another sharp decline. In this scenario, the price of ether might fall to $1,150 in the near term.
