The Bellatrix upgrade that prepared Ethereum for the Merge was completed successfully on September 6; however, concerns were expressed about a nearly one-in-ten missing block rate across the last 600 slots.Prior to the forthcoming Merge, the Bellatrix upgrade updated<a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-currency/ethereum-eth-prices-usd" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"> ETH</a> consensus layer clients on the Beacon Chain at epoch 144896.However, 5% of the validators went offline during the<a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-dictionary/hard-fork" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"> hard fork</a>, contributing to the 9% missing block rate, according to Gnosis co-founder Martin Köppelmann. As a result, several observers questioned whether the network was ready for the significant changeover to proof of stake.Köppelmann went on to say that the 9% figure was 1700% higher than the previous missing block rate of 0.5%. The issue might be due to the 25.6% of clients listed by Ethernodes as “not ready” for The Merge.Adam Cochran, a partner at Cinneamhain Ventures, expressed hope that the significant surge in missed blocks will be debugged before the Merge phase, noting that we don’t want to see unanticipated difficulties at this late point.However, not everyone is concerned. Anthony Sassano, founder of the Daily Gwei, remarked that having only 5% of validators falling off the network was an amazing result and that there isn’t much that can go catastrophically wrong with the Merge.“But if we observe validators dropping off the network owing to configuration difficulties, missing blocks/slots, or some clients having serious flaws, these aren’t huge concerns because they are very straightforward to recover from,” he added.The Bellatrix upgrade is one of the final phases before the Merge and allows Ethereum consensus layer clients to conduct transactions on the<a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-currency-news-english/eth-testnet-beacon-chain-launched" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"> Beacon Chain</a>.
