On Thursday, following the Ethereum Foundation’s formal proof-of-stake (PoS) transition announcement, Ethereum Classic’s hashrate reached a new all-time high at block height 15,806,925.The recent increase to 38.64 terahash is the network’s second record high in five days, following the capture of 38.37 terahash per second (TH/s) by Ethereum Classic on August 20, 2022.<a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-news-english?coin&#61;3698&amp;category&#61;&amp;tag&#61;&amp;search_date&#61;&amp;search_text&#61;&amp;submit&#61;Search" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">The Ethereum Foundation</a> recently published the Mainnet Merge Announcement blog post, which informs the public with more concrete dates for The Merge update. The Merge is planned to go live on September 10–20, 2022, at which point Ethash proof-of-work (PoW) miners will be compelled to mine another Ethash-supporting crypto network.Ethash miners have several currencies to pick from, including ravencoin (RVN), ergo (ERGO), beam (BEAM), and ethereum classic (ETC). As CoinGabbar earlier reported that the ETC’s hashrate has reached an all-time high of 38.37 TH/s at block height 15,776,674. On August 25, 2022, ETC broke that record when the network’s hashrate hit 38.64 TH/s at block height 15,806,925.<img src="https://academy-public.coinmarketcap.com/optimized-uploads/455f170adc044eb680dce8448c065114.jpeg" />ETC has a strong possibility of breaking that record again in the near future because the network broke the August 20 record on August 24 at block height 15,801,069 when it hit 38.40 TH/s. Furthermore, the Ethereum (ETH) network is still producing 975.15 TH/s of hashpower today. While there are other Ethash-supporting currencies, Ethereum Classic has been the primary benefactor of The Merge so far.<a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-currency/ethereum-classic-etc-prices-usd" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Ethereum Classic (ETC), the network’s native token</a>, has also climbed from the 20th to the 19th largest cryptocurrency by market valuation, with ETC prices up 3.2% in the last 24 hours. The price of ETC increased from $34.57 per unit in the early morning trading sessions on Thursday (EST) to the day’s high of $38.09 per unit, but it is currently trading at $36.37.<img src="https://academy-public.coinmarketcap.com/optimized-uploads/cd1f0b8dc502449da00dff25645a400d.png" />In the last 30 days, ETC has increased by 61.2% vs the US dollar.
