As <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">CoinGabbar</a> earlier reported that Hotbit, a cryptocurrency exchange, has suspended trading, deposits, withdrawals, and financing on its platform on 10th August 2022.The reason as per the exchange is that a former Hotbit management employee who left the company in April of this year was involved in a project last year (which was against Hotbit’s internal principles and was undisclosed to Hotbit) that law enforcement authorities now accuse of breaking criminal laws. As a result, many Hotbit top executives have been subpoenaed by law authorities since the end of July and are cooperating with the investigation. Furthermore, law enforcement has frozen some of Hotbit’s funds, preventing it from operating regularly.Hotbit is working hard to continue working with law enforcement agencies and monitoring the progress of the investigation, and will release the results as soon as they are accessible.Yesterday, Hotbit released the following treatment of user assets on its official website during the suspension period:<ul><li>To avoid loss due to market fluctuations, the user’s unfilled open order will be terminated before Hotbit’s service is recovered.</li><li>To avoid losses from holding positions, all leveraged ETF holdings held by users will be forced liquidated at the corresponding net values on August 10th, 2022.</li><li>The revenue from the user’s investment products will be distributed routinely.</li><li>Please be patient as the compensation scheme for users will be released once the website is restored.</li></ul>At the end of the release, hotbit made its users confident regarding the recovery of the platform and the safety of their user assets. The firm further stated that “If any users have any problems, please contact us via Support Ticket, and our CS staff will do their best to assist you.”In the last two months, we saw a lot of exchanges to halt withdrawals and their operations because of the <a href="https://youtu.be/WWfExgKdvsE" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">crypto winter </a>and mainly because of the terra luna collapse, and many of them file for bankruptcy as well.
