Established in 1968 by 450 fruit growers on 6,000 hectares, Elbe-Obst, has an average annual fruit production of more than 180,000 tons.Fruits are not easy to transport internationally with quality assurance. Elbe-Obst is compliant with international organizations such as the International Food Standard (IFS), Tesco Nurture, and the QS Test System and enforces all activities in accordance with EU standards. The Lower Saxony Chamber of Agriculture (LWK) does routine inspections to ensure the quality of their fruits along the entire production chain.
