HTX Reward For The Return Of Stolen Funds And The Possibility Of Hiring A Hacker For A Job

HTX, a Seychelles-based cryptocurrency exchange, was hacked, resulting in a loss of 5,000 ETH (worth $7.9 million). This happened a month after HTX changed its name from Huobi. Justin Sun, Tron creator and HTX advisor, confirmed the occurrence but claimed that the company has compensated the damages.

The hack was detected by blockchain investigators, including PeckShield, who noticed a suspicious outbound transaction of 4,999 ETH from HTX on Sunday.

Despite the small percentage compared to the exchange's total assets, HTX aims to recover the funds. The exchange claims to have uncovered the hacker’s identity and has threatened to involve law enforcement if they are not returned within a week.

HTX offered a 5% reward ($400,000) for the return of the stolen funds and even considered hiring the hacker as a security white-hat advisor if the funds were recovered.
