Chainlink launched Chainlink 24/7, which delivers market data for equities, commodities and other real-world assets across trading sessions, weekends and market holidays.
When traditional markets close, the price draws on quotes from multiple perpetual futures venues rather than the closed exchange, Chainlink said.
Aave is using Chainlink 24/7 to price tokenized assets used as collateral on its institutional lending platform Horizon, starting with high-volume US equities.
Oracle network Chainlink (
LINK) has launched a price service for tokenized stocks and other real-world assets that keeps running through weekends and market holidays, with Aave as its launch partner.
The service targets the hours when traditional exchanges are shut, a gap Chainlink said on-chain applications have historically had to manage themselves.
"Chainlink 24/7 delivers continuous market data for equities, commodities, and other real-world assets across trading sessions, weekends, and market holidays," Chainlink
said on X on Thursday, announcing the launch at Link:NYC.
Chainlink's 24/5 US equities streams already covered weekday sessions, leaving a gap from 8 p.m. ET Friday to 8 p.m. ET Sunday and on market holidays, Chainlink said in a
blog post.
Until now, on-chain apps had to choose between pausing markets, relying on the last available price or building their own off-hours pricing, the company said.
Chainlink 24/7 joins session prices with an off-hours reference into a single continuous price series for each supported asset. When the underlying market closes, it uses quotes from multiple
perpetual futures venues.
"This off-hours engine reflects fresh trading in derivatives linked to the asset; it is not a live quote from the closed traditional exchange," Chainlink said. The reference filters out stale inputs and limits the influence of outlier prices, it added.
Aave (
AAVE) is using Chainlink 24/7 Data Feeds to price tokenized real-world assets used as
collateral on Horizon, its institutional lending platform, starting with high-volume US equities.
"With Chainlink 24/7, Aave can reliably value RWA collateral through weekends and holidays," Aave founder and CEO Stani Kulechov said.
Chainlink called off-hours pricing "a DeFi solvency risk" for lending protocols holding tokenized real-world assets such as
tokenized stocks as collateral over weekends and holidays.
Kamino this week
opened USDC loans against Backpack's tokenized shares, with an oracle that holds the last published price while US markets are closed. Chainlink last month
rolled out CCIP 2.0 for issuers, letting them add their own bridge verifiers.
LINK traded around $11.74 as of 17:48 UTC, up 2% over 24 hours, according to CoinMarketCap data.
