Theta (THETA) is a blockchain powered network purpose-built for video streaming. Launched in March 2019, the Theta mainnet operates as a decentralized network in which users share bandwidth and computing resources on a peer-to-peer (P2P) basis. The project is advised by Steve Chen, co-founder of YouTube and Justin Kan, co-founder of Twitch.

Theta features its own native cryptocurrency token, THETA, which performs various governance tasks within the network, and counts Google, Binance, Blockchain ventures, Gumi, Sony Europe and Samsung as Enterprise validators, along with a Guardian network of thousands of community-run guardian nodes.

Developers say that the project aims to shake up the video streaming industry in its current form — centralization, poor infrastructure and high costs mean that end users often end up with a poor experience. Content creators likewise earn less revenue due to the barriers between them and end users.

The Theta team has created a customer-centric business plan for their growing ecosystem of services focused on esports, music, TV, movies, and education. The list of Theta Network partners includes video platforms like Samsung VR, Cinedigm, Shout! Factory, Pandora.tv, Play Labs, and THETA.tv.

Kleros (PNK) is a decentralized dispute resolution project that launched in July 2018. It is an open-source online dispute resolution protocol that uses blockchain and crowdsourcing to adjudicate disputes fairly.

Kleros offers a middleman service for decentralized applications (DApps) and their users. If the service provided by the application does not create a dispute, Kleros acts as a trustless third-party service for payment.

When a dispute does occur, however, each party can apply for arbitration through the Kleros arbitrators that are selected from the owners of PNK tokens. PNK is an Ethereum-based ERC-20 utility token with a fixed supply.

At this point, the jurors can make a decision that will favor either party. The arbitration fees are distributed to all arbitrators in the form of ETH; jurors who have issued a minority decision lose part of their PNK tokens for the benefit of the majority of jurors. This decision can be appealed, at a cost. The stated mission of Kleros is to offer easier access to justice and improve individual freedom.

Kleros charges a cost that is payable in ETH and is provided by the parties to the dispute or drawn from the funds previously locked in escrow.

FC Porto Fan Token (PORTO) is a fan token on the BEP-20 network. As a Binance fan token utility token, PORTO is designed to reward fans of FC Porto, a well-known football team that competes in the Portuguese Premier League.

FC Porto was founded in 1893 and is the second richest football team in Portugal, known for its huge fan base. The PORTO token launched on Nov. 6, 2021. By holding the PORTO token, fans can gain exposure to the football club’s activities by voting on decisions and gaining access to exclusive discounts and club rewards. After Socios had first popularized fan tokens, Binance took over the launch of new tokens like PORTO. The Binance logo will be featured on the new Alpine A522 cars starting from next season. Alpine executives were highly pleased with the deal. Laurent Rossi, the CEO of the F1 team, said that "partnering with Binance fuels our passion to change the racing landscape as well as open doors for more innovative fan engagement." Binance was equally buoyant about the deal, with Helen Hai, CEO of Binance Fiat Exchange noting that "we Binance aim to bring equally exciting experiences to the blockchain and drive even more utility for ALPINE holders, to extend the range of activities fans can already do on our platform. We are just approaching 'turn one' of 'lap one' on the token race track; and possibilities are truly endless."

Santos FC Fan Token (SANTOS) is a fan token of the eponymous football team that was launched by a partnership between Santos FC and Binance Launchpool. Santos FC, aka Santos Futebol Clube, is a Brazilian sports club in the state of São Paulo, based in Vila Belmiro.

The pandemic hit football clubs hard, and as a result, the concept of a fan token was born. The fans were delighted, then the investors picked up the enthusiasm.

The collaboration between Binance and Santos FC was confirmed in November 2021 with an official statement published on the football club’s social network pages. The agreement of the two parties layed out the conditions to the launch the fan token. Binance acquired the status of sponsor and licensee, earning the right to operate NFTs products. The goal of this alliance is to increase fan engagement, build relationships between the club and fans, and attract the attention of Binance customers.
