The Electric Reliability Council of <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/texas-residents-challenge-bitcoin-mining-industrys-impact-on-power-grid-and-communities/">Texas</a> (ERCOT), responsible for overseeing the state's electrical grid, is taking preemptive action to mitigate potential grid emergencies as Texas anticipates a heatwave.&nbsp; according to <a href="https://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/energy/article/ercot-texas-grid-heat-emergency-19399953.php">Houstonchronicle</a>. 
Temperatures across Texas could rise to the high 80s to low 90s Fahrenheit (around 31-34 degrees Celsius), significantly above the usual mid-April norms. Cities like Houston, San Antonio, and Dallas are predicted to experience highs of 88 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit (31 to 32 degrees Celsius), while southern areas of West Texas and the Rio Grande are expected to see temperatures in the low- to mid-90s Fahrenheit (around 34-35 degrees Celsius). 
Doug Lewin of Stoic Energy Consulting highlighted that the trend towards hotter days earlier in the year is set to continue, necessitating more agile grid management. ERCOT's current measures reflect a strategic approach to ensuring grid reliability, particularly after previous incidents where extreme weather led to significant power outages.
